Oh, gosh. I've been trying to talk myself out of getting the side steps, but you aren't making it easy.

Looks good.

thanks. the reason i got the side steps was because i want to take my pilot up to tahoe, and i figure i would need just a lil more height to reach the top and get the snowboards off. well i haven't got the snowboard rack yet, but it's in the works. i have my stock rims (w/ pressure sensors) which i'll be using for these trips.

salt on the roads and new rims don't mix :4:

Welcome

Nice looking ride. I love the black wheels on your '06. Can you tell me about them? What size wheels and tires?

I don't believe they use salt anymore on hwy 50 (or 80). I've seen them using dirt/gravel, which is worse when you've got cars kicking up stuff into your car!

thanks...at a local shop they had these on their walls (as well as others). since my pilot was black...i really wanted to do the whole black on black theme (with just a little chrome). anyway, these are donz montanas

http://www.donzwheelz.com/catalog.php?a=montana

as for the tire...i wished i had done a bit more research on them. seem to have balancing issues. they're falkens s/tz-04 in 275/45/r20. i need to go back to the shop and see what they can do.

gravel, really??? i guess i haven't noticed. makes me wonder if i should bring it up at all...at least for the first year. i'd be sad if i got any nicks or any chips on the windshield or any part, for that matter.

yeah seeing how nice your pilot looks right now, I'd wouldn't want any nicks or chips!

you can always get a full nose mask I suppose.

Your Pilot resembles mine right down to the "Larry Hopkins" on the Licence Plate. (Yes I bought mine from Sunnyvale too).

But I don't have the Side Steps (running boards).
Was it pre-installed by the dealership. If not, how much did it cost you and where did you get it from.

great Pilot. Welcome.

I think the chrom step bar might go a little better with your 20" rim.

that's awesome...we were in luck when we bought ours...all the salesmen were busy so the gm took care of us. no need to haggle back and forth for the price and he gave us his bottom price...which beat all the other dealerships by 300 or more. ok back to what you were asking, actually i had the side steps and all the other accessories put on as part of the deal. if i remember correctly i think it was around 400+ installed. i think if you are going to get them, go through one of the site sponsers...hondaacuraworld folks are great. got my pressure sensors from them within a week...plus no tax or shipping...just a modest 4 bux for handling.

i was debating this for a while...to go with black or chrome. but in the end i choose black because i thought this would give me more options for rims. at first i didn't like the chrome lip too much, but it really grew on me as i started to do more research on it. i guess the only positive from the black side steps...easier to clean :4:

Might I suggest a clear bra. It would protect your front end against rocks and chips. Since its almost invisible, it wouldn't detract from the lines of the Pilot. The downside is that it's expensive, about $300 to $500 depending upon the amount of coverage.

that's exactly what i am looking into next. i'm asking the local folks from here for suggestions for shops who are competent in doing this. larrys has already replied to another thread i started and he paid 800 for his...and he said they did a great job. i've looked at xpels page and only 3 were listed locally. so im looking for more shops w/ reviews.
