o6 aluminum grill - Click HERE for Original Thread

i have an 06 ex-l navi,
and live in florida where it rains almost every day.
what is the trick to keep the aluminum grill on the front of this thing from not looking like hell.
i talked to the dealer, and they said to dry it off when it gets wet.
i'm not going to dry my car every time it rains, thats insane.
couple this with the same dealer wanting $1400 for a trailer hitch, i can guess who will never get my business again...
other than that i love my pilot.
what polish/wax/cleaner/ whatever should i use on this grill?

thanks

One thing that I would try using is Rain-X. it works great for making the water bead up and run off.

wax it. if you get enough coats on, the most of the rain will bead off.

Spinn,

What kind of grill did you get? I got the one from Caseys Customs (thru Ebay).
I'm definitely gonna try the RainX idea this weekend. :2:

If u got a different kind of grill, post some pix. It would be good to see the other ones on the market.

Gonna wash my baby 2morrow and take some pix for posting (as soon as I get the bottom piece of the grill on. Still haven't had the chance to complete the project :3:

Grill is done. Had to modify the license plate bracket to fit but otherwise a piece of cake.

Tried out the RainX idea. It hasn't rained here yet (NJ) so I can't say if it worked or not, but let's try and keep each other posted.

Here's my baby:

I think he is referring to the areas surrounding the "H" logo. Those Silver trim/grill are actually plastic so waxing it should do the trick. As to Caseys grill, I had it on my other car for 3 years and it looks just as good without putting anything on for protecting.

Oh, I see.

You sure that thing is aluminum? It feels like plastic to me.

I use Eagleone's NanoWax Spray on my 2006 front Grill and it's been working well.
