| Maybe I haven't noticed this before, but has anyone noticed rock damage on the little piece of clear tape located very low just in back of the rear door jam, just in front of the wheel well? I took the Pilot through the car wash today and it is noticiable on both sides. The clear film almost appears to be fogged or dirty in apperance. Maybe that's why the clear tape was placed there from the factory. |

| I don't know if I have any damage there, but yes, the clear tape is there to prevent/reduce rock chips. |

| It depends on how much exposure your vehicle gets to things that will damage that area. Our 99 CRV did not have that clear strip and the paint all wore away there. It saw mostly hwy driving and got hammered during the winter months with sand and salt. The Pilot has the strip and I don't think it is showing any wear yet but the Pilot is only in it's second mild winter. |

Just don't know how well it is, because it has only seen 2 winters and one of them was mild. The CRV took several winters to show wear. |

| I don't know....Our Pilot has less than 20k and has only been in the snow twice seems to be a lot of scuffing for very light driving. Oh well, I'll just live with it. |

Has it seen trails or sandy conditions? Anything abrasive? The wind has to flow outward to follow that contour and anything carried along will start wear of that strip. |

| Mine has driven through the Ontario winters of '02, '03, '04, '05, and now '06. All sorts of crap on the roads, salt, sand. I drive down gravel roads all summer at the cottage. It's showing some wear but no more than I would expect to see after that period of time. Maybe Honda is using cheaper plastic now? |
