| i had the timimng belt tensioner recall in 04 at 16000 miles . well the other day at 90000 miles i had to have it replaced again at my expense. honda wouldnt cover it since its been 3 years and 70000 miles. has any1 else had theirs replaced since the recall ? if so how many miles later ? mine is 03 pilot. i went ahead and got timing belt package which included timing belt, water pump and tensioner for $600. This seems like bullcrap , maybe honda still has a problem with the tensioners. 1st thought it was the belts ,squealing and squeling rattle combo and didnt stop after i changed belts. |

I don't know, getting 75K out of the tensioner doesn't seem that bad. Isn't tensioner replacement pretty much a standard thing to do during the timnig belt replacment (like the water pump)?

The recommended timing belt replacement is 105 K miles for most drivers in the USA. So the TB tensioner would not be checked before 105K normally. This is for Honda and many others with timing belts. The tensioner is often not replaced with TB change, just inspected. |
