Cargo Cover and Tray Questions - Click HERE for Original Thread

Does anyone have the cargo cover? Is there anything you don't like about it? I read an old post about it squeaking and other things. Is that still the case? Has the product improved over the years?

The cargo tray looks like a big floor mat to me. Is that what it is? The word "tray" kind of throws me. Is this product meant to be used only when the third row is down?

I'm looking on the Hondacuraworld website and they don't show anything for the '07 Pilots. Should I assume the '06 stuff will work with my '07? Is there a better place to shop?

Thanks!!

You have to have the 3rd row seat down in order to use the tray.

If you are planning to get a Honda Care through one of the online dealerships, they do offer either $25 or $30 coupons so you can use it to purchase your accessories. I have a $30 which it will expire on 4/1. I am still trying to figure it out if I should get the cargo cover or tray or both (however, I really do not have much stuff to carry in the cargo at this moment).

I have the cargo cover and tray. My cover is silent and useful. My wife likes that she can hide her shopping plunder under it, safely out of sight.

We don't use the 3rd row much, but you're right, you have to roll the tray up when you sit he seats up. You can then move the cargo cover to the rear-most position behind the third row seat (or stow it in the compartment where the headrests go--until you want to put the headrests back, that is.)

I saw a tray on ebay that claimed to fold to accomodate both the positions (third row up OR down). It was more rigid IIRC. Try a search there, and maybe you'll find it.

For the cargo cover, can I just use it with the 3rd seats up?

There are 2 locations to install the cargo cover. The first is behind the second row to cover the entire area behind it with the third row down. The second is behind the third row. It covers the small area behind the third row when it is up. If you leave the slot covers for both locations off, then you can just move it back and forth when you need to.

Do I order the '06 stuff for my '07 Pilot? Why wouldn't they update their website?

Have you tried http://www.bernardiparts.com?

Cargo "TRAY" has sides to keep liquid, dirt, etc in the tray...thus the term tray. They make a mat, which or course doesn't have sides...thus the term mat...etc.

On a serious note: Cargo trays are great. Gotten one for each suv I've owned. 06 will fit 07

I ordered a tray and a cover and should receive them by the end of the week.

BTW, the more I drive my Pilot, the more I love it. My baby will be a week old tomorrow. :)

How much did you get them for?

Sorry, plchan. I just now saw your question. I paid $205.99 for the two items and shipping.

I just received the items yesterday and when I went to open them up tonight, I found that they sent me a saddle cargo cover instead of the gray. I had to fill out a form to request the return, and now I have to package it up and find a UPS store (none in my town). Once they receive the wrong one back, they'll send me the correct one. I know people make mistakes, but I want my cargo cover now. Should I at least ask them to discount the cover? I'm pretty disappointed.

Anybody can make a mistake. Just be sure you don't pay any more than you would have for the original. (they ought to pay for return shipping then free shipping on new one) A discount might be asking for too much.

Hi guys,

Try this store on ebay called get it covered.

I have an 05 pilot and if i remember right, the OEM cargo tray does not fold.

I purchased a cargo tray from this company and it folded with any variation of the back seats up or down.

At first I gotta say it is made of lightweight material. When it came i thought it was cheap and not usable. The guy I must admit was nice enough to give me a refund because i thought it was not sturdy enough for my uses.

Sure enough when the first stormy day came and I had a lotta junk to put in the back of the pilot, I threw the tray back there and to this day it has worked out great and has never torn which was my biggest fear. It is a bendable soft material but now I see very strong.

If you need a cargo cover, take a look at this company and see if it fits your needs. If i ever need another one, i will not hesitate to buy from this guy.

Not trying to sell for him, but thankful that he was a nice guy with a good product and great service.

So, did you get the OEM cargo tray from that ebayer?
nyhunter77
Nope, I didn't like how it didn't bend.

Sometimes i need to put up the seats on the fly. I didn't know where i would put the tray if i had to do that.

But the one I got from the ebayer is actually a very good tray. Just a very light strong material that I misjudged.

OEM cargo tray can be rolled up into about a foot diameter tube that fits behind the third seat. It works best if you have a strap to keep it from unrolling.

hmm i remember it being a hard tray that could not be folded like the Acura one .. has there been an upgrade recently?

I checked it out way back in 05.

Thanks for the info.

I just got my tray a few days ago and it came rolled up in a box. I put it in the back of the Pilot and put something on each corner of the tray (less than two pounds each) and the tray was perfectly flat a few hours later.

I've got both a 2003 Acura MDX tray and a 2005 Pilot tray. They are both the same material - flexible plastic that can be rolled up.

Same here: 2003 MDX and 2007 Pilot. Both roll up behind third row.

It is still usable with third row up too. You just leave it where it lays and roll the front over toward the back and you can still put wet stuff, etc on the tray with the front part flopped over it. We do this all the time when we go to the lake.

Cargo tray is a must.

I don't understand what the earlier poster means about it not folding.

Could somebody please confirm if the cargo tray from http://www.bernardiparts.com rolls up or is it usable with third row up?
