Are these dual HID bulbs / single HID with shutter for high beam / single HID for low beam / single HID for low beam and halogen for high beam?
I have seen all four combinations, in the past. |

This is for the single low beam, since that is the setup on my 2007 (the high beams are 9005 I believe, while the low beam is the H11). For previous generation Pilot, I would visit www.Lavalighting.com for more information.
I know the prices are the same. I just don't know which H4 Jerry has available.
Again, for those who are unfamiliar with Lava, they offer the best Phillips value in the market.
5 year warranty (only one I have found)
Available dual relay system
At these prices, it is the best deal around for the highest quality. |

| I am interested in this group buy, but I am a newbie (I just bought my Pilot today). How does this work? Do I have to wait for the group buy to close before we receive our product? What is the typical time frame for that? |

Normally, if we will get the best price for 10+ orders, we will wait till we get the 10. Then those 10 will pay and their items will be shipped. Others interested will get the discounted price until the group buy closes out. |

For those of you who are still interested in this groupbuy...I just got a response from Jerry. This was his e-mail and he told me to post it here.
I just read the group buy thread for the first time. Thank you for sending me the link. What I could do is everyone can send payment as soon as they are ready and when the group buy ends, I can refund the difference through Paypal for each price tier met. My Paypal address is nxpx32@yahoo.com
If you could also inform others that my info@lavalighting.com email address is NOT working as of the moment. Those who would like to send email should send to jerry.su@verizon.net instead. I'll be happy to answer any concerns via email or phone (469-233-2450).
Thanks for your interest and let me know if you have questions.
Brgds,
Jerry
PS.. I will be out of town until Friday so emails/calls may take till the end of day for responses. |

I'll be buying a Pilot, soon. (2007 EX-L/RES) One of the things I wanted was Xe HIDs. I live in a rural area and like the broad, right-biased lighting so I'm not so surprised by the deer I hit. How difficult is the installation of the Philips kit? Is this a weekend, or Saturday chore? (Assuming moderate auto repair skill)
What's the big picture here? Do these replace low and high beams, or only low? Why the choice in relays? And, where is the factory wiring bypassed? (Or, should I just call Jerry and save the pixels?) |

jon316,
Congratulations on your new Pilot.
The kit I have listed replaces the low beam on the Pilot. Without the relay, the new light bulbs get their power directly from the battery. With the relay power is sent from the relay which has its own fuse(s). The advantage of the relay system is that it protects the warranty on your car in the event of some power issue, should it ever arise. The disadvantage is that according to Jerry, the relay is the part of the kit that breaks down the most. Although his warranty is for 5 years, it can be a hassle if they go out.
Without the relay system you don't deal with breakdown issues, of the relay that is. Besides that, you save about $20.
Based on my research and what everyone else has posted, the install should take no longer than 1 -2 hrs. max. |

OT: There has been expressed interest in a vendor offering "Lifetime warranty on HID products". My response is to use your best judgement. It would be an insane business move (aka this company is desperate for your business and probably won't be around to stand by their product once they receive it; give them a year or two if that) as even Philips HID products give me enough headaches in warranty claims. Their claim, "German and Japanese Engineering" gives me the chuckles. Using a smile face after every other sentence begs me to question what this person is trying to hide.
Check the business and domain registration dates. NBO HID has their registry information blocked. Lava Lighting, LLC has been around since 2001; live online since 2002. We have seen more than a dozen "major" HID companies come and gone. Call the customer service phone number to see if anyone actually answers the phone everytime during normal business hours.
A failure rate claim of < 0.01% (~1 in 10,000) is impossible. Our average warranty claim rate is just over 10% (ballast, bulb and relay harness failures combined per kit). And yes, we actually stand by the warranty. Do a search on any search engine about Lava Lighting and read the customer reviews about standing behind our warranty.
The Philips HID kit that we offer is no joke in terms of quality. Open up a Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, Honda S2000, C6 Corvette, etc headlight and you are bound to find that these automotive manufacturers mainly select Philips burners. The reason why is that they are the industry proven leader in terms of lifespan, color, and performance. You might even find name brands such as Osram and GE but they are much fewer. Line up 10 Philips bulbs side-by-side and they look exactly identical. Line up 10 HID bulbs from any other manufacturer and you will see some variation. If you are interested in a cheaper kit, we have GE (used to carry Osram but not anymore) and Panasonic available for $270/kit. GE w/Sirius ballasts for $250/kit. Both of these types of kits will come with a one year warranty and no relay harness setup. I would highly suggest the Philips HID setup though if you want the brightest and longest lasting kit. We have been solicited by many companies to carry China/Taiwan branded HID kits for as low as $80/set but refuse to do so. I guess the old proverb remains true: you get what you pay for.
Hope I didn't bore you with all that info.
Brgds,
Jerry

From what I see from their web site, they should be pretty much the same: Phillip bulb + Phillip Ballasts. Me also have 07 and want to get HID for it. Is the 4300K H11 in stock now in Lavalighting?
BTW: what price we are paying for this group buy? 10+? |
