I'm 98% sold on getting a 07 Pilot EX-L. Reading through all this great info I have found that I need to check....

The paint job in sunlight and artificial light.

The headliner on both driver and passenger sides.

For vibration at higher speeds.

Is there any other potential problems that I should look out for.

I really appreciate all the great info that I have found so far.

Leatehr seat "sag" is another thing to check for. Although Honda has done a much better job than the earlier models. And YES consider it if you live where it gets even a bit cold. I have it on my '04 and the wife wants to trade in her '04 Accord to find something with heated leather seats! They are NOT hot in the summer either, like I had first thought they would be.

Also,

1) Check out the speakers (to listen carefully if the sounds like distorted or with pop / crack sound)

2) check out the carpet. Someone reported water leaking to the carpet. But it is difficult to check out for the brand new car

3) check out the sound when you try to make turn, stop... someone reported the sound is from the front.

I am not sure how you can check out the vibration in the high speed. Unless they allow you to drive high speed in local street during test drive.

Other than that, enjoy it. Sooner you purchase it, sooner you can enjoy it.

Sure, if they want to make the sale.

Make sure there are no gap on the side panel on the doors. I had one of my side panel replaced by dealer because there is a small gap.

Also check out the car alignment.

I believe in the US you have 3 days LEGALLY to do a test drive. Now getting away with that is a WHOLE other story. When I bought mine the guy jumped in and we told him to get out. He was not happy but did. We brought the car back 3 hours later. He had a HUGE smile on his face when he saw us! We bought it. We drove it all over, first me then the wife, then me again, doing lots of swaps depending on the road conditions.

That is very nice. I did not know we would be able to test the car for that long (3hrs in your case).

I will learn from the experience so I know what to do in next (not for a while) purchase.

Thank you everyone! I've added these items to my list.

It shouldn't a problem to test it for vibration, the dealer is right near a freeway and the speed limit is 65. I like the idea of no salesmen going with on the test drive. I'm hoping they will let us take it over night so that we can really go over it.

What in the world does that mean? Until you pay for it, it is it the dealer's property, and they don't even have to let you touch it if they don't want to.

I can't seem to find it right now, but am thinking it might be a combination of the 3 business day return policy and my memory.
Anyway here is a website that can help someone when buying that new car.
