That doesn't look possible!!!!

How did this happen?

Did the cruiser hit anything else?

Yeah, the pilot would normally crumple up more than this if it hit a car like that, as it is designed to absorb the impact by crumpling.

A Panther platform car does not get totaled by a Pilot with it only receiving minor damage. Besides... In that gargantuate pixelated pic it doesn't look totaled.

I don't think the Pilot recieved minor damage. Looks like the tire/rim took the brunt of the force in the crash resulting with possibly a broken tierod, the braking system etc...
But it's hard to tell by the distorted photo.

Could be, it depends on the impact angles. If the cruiser took the impact head on, and the Pilot it took it at an angle...

In other news, a couple weeks ago, I saw the aftermath of a squad car getting rear ended by a Lexus RX330.

I have been in my share of accidents, but how bad is it to hit a police car?!

Does not look like they were involved in the same accident (with eachother).

I resized the picture as well.

While there is evidence that the Pilot suffered considerable damage there was a something or someone else involved in this collision that is not in the picture.

2 + 2 = 5 in this picture. Something is missing.

No way can that cruiser have that amount of front end damage shown and the Pilots' right-front be the cause of it.

Well... A CVPI is a ladder frame vehicle. The one in the pic will get new sheetmetal for the front and some lights and probably call it a day. It's not that badly damaged from what I can see and they would probably drive it where ever it need to be fixed (assuming the radiator isn't punctured). The amount of damage needed to total the car would more than likely also total the Pilot.

The Pilot may have more serious damage but it doesn't appear as tho it has enough to match the CVPI in the pic.

There is no way that the cop car only hit the pilot, and the pilot didn't have more damage.I hit a cavalier in my wifes 03 pilot in the same area as that pilot and it did a lot more damage(totalled by the insurance co)to her pilot.

Ya, everybody knows that all police officers know how to drive and are always the innocent driver in any collisions in which they are involved:D
