I know that there are a few threads on this matter, but I wanted to start a new thread related to my specific noise.
I just picked up a new 2007 Pilot EX 2WD with 21 miles on it.
It had been raining over the weekend and so the ground was wet. When attempting to make a sharp right turn during strong acceleration, I notice a "grinding" noise coming from the front, low area of the vehicle. I could also feel the grinding noise through the gas pedal.
I pulled into an empty lot that still had moisture on the ground and tried to replicate it while making both left and right turns. The grinding noise did reappear. I had not noticed if the VSA "Exclamation Mark" had blinked or not.
Two days later, I tried to replicate the noise but the ground here is dry. I found an area near a construction site where the ground was very dusty. This time it was more difficult to reproduce the grinding sound during hard, powered turns, but it was there, though for a whole lot less amount of time. During this test, I did notice that the "!" indicator did blink on and off, but still the grinding noise was very minimal.
One I start pulling out of the turn the grinding noise does stop.
Is this noise normal and common to the VSA working? |

It turns out that this grinding noise is indeed the VSA working. I was told by the dealer that this is normal.
FYI for anyone who may have been experiencing this. |
