Integra Advice - Click HERE for Original Thread

A buddy of mine has a 1998 integra and the engine went out. He is leaning on getting a new car.

He can have the integra engine replaced for 4000 and sell it possibly for 4500. That's a difference of 500. Or should he forget the engine and sell the car "as is"? Do you think he can get more selling it that way?

By the way, he is looking at an accord or altima.

He can probably get at least $500 for that vehicle on eBay as a parts car. A parts car posting is cheaper than a regular posting, and there are a bunch of people that would be interested in that car as a tuner.

jesus - $4k is way high unless he's buying a brand new motor from Honda (which i don't even think is possible) and having a dealer install it.

If you're buddy is in Chicago, I'm sure he can find a local tuner shop that will be willing to do the work for about 1/2 the cost. Low Mileage b18c motors run from about 1k - 1200. Swaps in the DC4 really don't take that much time. I am sure that he'll be able to get close to KBB once he drops a new motor in there - Teggys with swapped motors hold their values.
