Touch of Class (Offered By Dealer) - Click HERE for Original Thread

At signing, one of the services my dealer offered was called "Touch of Class" where a 3rd party company will coat my vehicle, then take care of any chips and scratches for 3 or 5 years.

I was wondering what product they use to coat the vehicle with and if I can take my new 07 Pilot somewhere and pay to have this done myself.

They claim that you won't have to wax your vehicle for 5 years.

Thoughts?

Save your money. It's an an extremely expensive wax job, nothing more.

Agreed. I did work for a dealer for 20+ years and "coatings and sealants are just another way for the f&i department to make money. I would also be leary about the chip and scratch promise. I've never seen that offered by any dealer in the "snake oil" package. However, if it makes you feel better, go ahead and purchase it. But, make sure the chip and scratch promise is in WRITING and you fully understand the terms. Good luck.
