My Pilot held up well in accident - Click HERE for Original Thread
luniz
A little old lady decided to turn in front of me while I was going 45 mph. Airbags deployed and all that great stuff. But as a whole the Pilot held up really well. Most of the damage occured on the right front of the vehicle. The hood was dented up but for the most part held its integrity. I must say that the Pilot does well on front end crashed in my experience. I hope her insurance will reimburse me for my HID's.

Sounds like no one was seriously hurt - good to hear. Any soreness from using the airbags?

somebody will post the message icons, but do you have any pictures?

Probably the #1 reason I bought the pilot was because of its all Good (Green) safety rating in the IIHS tests.

I will get pics probably when I get a chance to get to the auto yard. I was sore yesterday, but today is alot worse. The lady was pretty cut up because I hit her passenger side and the glass cut her face pretty good. She is alright, but it was not a pretty site seeing an elderly lady bleeding from her face and head.

yeah, that sucks - even though it was her fault it would really get me to have to see that..

Maybe this will work.

How fast you reckon you were going at impact? It does look like it help up pretty well. I hope I never have to test the safety of the Pilot.

I think anywhere from 35-40 mph. I had a good second to brake before impact. I even had time to wonder if the airbag was going to go off or not. 14 months ago here is what happened to my Grand AM. I hit a lady at 50 mph as she pulled out right in front of me.

You seem to have quite a few people zipping out in front of you....

I hit the side of a schoolbus one time square in the wheel - no damage to the bus but my Toyota pickup was smashed... that feeling where you sit there and wonder how hard the smack will be is awful. In my case, I actually thought I was about to slide into the front of the bus and get hit by it and be killed.

Wow! I absolutely hate the feeling of not being in control. In both of my accidents, I could only try to brace for impact. That 1-2 seconds before impact seems like it takes forever. I like how airbags save lives; however, I could go hopefully a couple of years not seeing one in my face.
