| I found a site with a working program to chage the splash screen on my 06 Pilot. http://navihack.jasonandrepont.com/ dump 06Touch2.bin and update Opening1.bmp, when updating the file it appears to be case sensitive. |

| But still nothing to get rid of the "nag" screen? |
|
|
| astick |
| nope, this doesnt seem to be a popular topic here. I think the 07 TL uses the same software, so the fix will probably come from the acura forums. the nag screen text is in HMIManager.dll so you could probably hex it, ill try it in a min. |

Thanks fo rthe info I changed my startup screen using the information above.
Anyone interested, or inclined, when extracting the files out of the 06To0ch2.bin file I saw one named tripcomputer, I had heard about others activating this feature. but I did not see the nonag.exe file that is supposed to be a piece of the puzzle in getting rid of the warning screen.
This is getting fun.

| There isnt a file called no nag in the bin. In the older navi's the nag screen is in navi.exe (or something like that) so you would update navi.exe with a hexed version "nonag.exe". I tried hexing the text in HMIManager.dll but was unable to update it, bysin said it was unable to find the file. |

| errr....... The navi dvd has 06TouchX.bin and 06JogX.bin Touch as in touch screen for honda?? and Jog(I assume the little knob thingy) for acura, because the new acuras dont have a touch screen. Thats great.... so what would happen if i loaded the jog files instead of touch???? you get the acura navi setup!!!!!!!! AC control trip computer a different ui and some other stuff.... Live traffic maps??????? I wouldnt know... I cant make the disclaimer screen go away, because the acuras dont support the touch screen and the jog setup must be different from the hondas cause it doesnt work either, and the voice command doesnt work on the diclaimer screen. So i decided i would burn another disc this time a hybrid one, the best of both worlds!!! Heres how it works... 06touch.bin contains the kernel and other system files and what appears to be registry hives????? So i figure if they are registry hives then maybe i could load 06Touch.bin because it probably has a setting in the registry for the touch screen driver and the 06jog2.bin cause it has all kinds of cool stuff like XM traffic. Wow that would be easy. So i burn the disc and head out to the car to load it, I know i cant load it from the menu so i'll try disconnecting the battery to reset it(I saw this in some forum)so i disconnected got some food had a smoke then went back to it and fired up Q-TIP to update with my new hybrid disc... AcuraLink... :( Now it looks like im gonna have to crack the navi open(I wanted to anyway), when i get to it i'll put some pics up. Oh and now that i disconnected the battery i cant even use anything with the voice commands cause i have no way of entering the code... |

Is the screen really functional with AC control? That's pretty cool. :4: |

So, what instructions should we follow? That link mentions a few different versions (3.40c, 3.50, etc). Do you have some mapping from the Acura versions to the Pilot Nav versions?
And, have you tried that, "AngryDad's trip computer mod"? Does it give us Pilot owners a trip computer?
Thanks!

I know that the '03 to '05 NAV units do not have a connection to the fuel system so a trip computer isn't possible. Did it change for the '06 and up models? |

| Like I said it should work. See if your disk has the same bin files that need to be modified. By changing a few bin files on my TL disk it can be made to think it is in a tsx or a accord, so I am guessing the Pilot disk will use the same disk as the TL. If not maybe that thread will give you some ideas to try. |

| The acura stuff wont work. The link he gave is for older software. At least it wont work for 06 and up. |

| You can use a compact flash card with a PCMCIA adapter to load new splash screens and software. just take the files that you would burn to cd and put them on the card. it probally works with sd and all those other cards too. |

Sounds like a silly question, but do you have the key turned on or in the accessory position? |

| To be honest, it has been a couple of weeks since I tried to use my back-up copy when it happened and I cannot remember. I do know that I got really scarred when I tried to use my back-up copy of the Nav disk, it didn't work and then the door wouldn't open. |

I renamed my jog2 to touch2 on my 07 odyssey, and now my navigations system is unresponsive. I disconnected the battery for several minutes but it didn't reset. Any suggestions? |

try pressing the buttons on the display to access the menu and update the software using the original disk. I did this to go back to a previous version of the software whwn me backup disk crapped out.

| I hope someone can hack the Nav system. I've been looking and reading all I can find, but some of the info I can find is way over my level of computer understanding. I guess what I'm trying to say is- if someone figures out how to loose the disclaimer screen and add the a/c controls and trip computer I hope they will post the instructions in language us regular folks can understand!:) |
