I would like to get XM radio in my 2005 pilot.
Anyone out there have it installed?
What happens to the old radio?
Is it a neat installation or does it take up a lot of room?
What retailer do you suggest?
Thanks |

I've got a 2005 Pilot USA spec ipod interface with an AUX input. I plug the XM radio that way and the sound quality is really good, just like an ipod. The xm antenna is inside the car on the dashboard. See the other threads in the Electronics section.
Remember that you can get 3 months of XM service for free: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/mes...3680&lastpage=1
After that, you can pay $77 per year :) |

| Here is a very simple install I did. This XT Roady was originally in my 2001 CR-V. I went to WalMart and bought double sided adhesive tape in the hardward dept for re-attachment of the antenna and receiver mounting unit. the wires are all bundled neatly with electrical tape and hidden behind the dash and steering column. The power plug adapter wire comes out the bottom of the dash and is exposed to where it is plugged in. In other words, very easy installation and very easy removal. The antenna mounted on the dash works great! The antenna in the picture is actually mounted dead center, about 4 in or so behind the heat/sun sensor.....somehow the photo makes it looks off-center. |

I had the XM Commander unit installed as I wanted as close to factory look as possible. It is very close!
I can send you some photos if you are interested. I went to Tweeter and they did a good job.
