2005 Pilot 0-60? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Does anyone know the approx. 0-60 of the 255hp '05 Pilot? I've heard everywhere from 7.1-8.2. My old car was 8.6 and the pilot feels MUCH better, so I doubt its the 8.2, but im unsure?

I think you already have the answer you are seeking. A google search will confirm your result. Every test triggers different results depending on weather conditions altitude, engine's looseness and driver ability

Hahaha! Jokes aside, a professional driver will get a stock Pilot to 60 in 7.5-8

... and driver ability

No offense meant, I can see how weather conditions can affect the outcome, but what special ability does it take to mash the accelerator into the carpet? :) :)

LOL.............I was thinking the same exact thing. If it was a manual transmission then..........yeah........but why does it take a "professional driver" to floor it until you hit 60?

The Pilot pulls off the line as good or better than the 2001 V6 Accord I had, but once the speed gets up, the Pilot starts to lag where the Accord kept on pulling. I would guess this is due to all the air the Pilot is pushing.

I guess that is why it takes a professional driver.

Often maximum acceleration does not come from "Mashing the accelerator to the floor"

With a PHD pedal, I am not sure where the skill comes in. I dont think a vehicle like the pilot is going to benefit from brake-torquing, though I have never tried it (maybe I should). The only thing left is reaction time off the line.

Reaction time has nothing to do with 0-60. The clock starts when you move. If you are drag racing then it makes a difference.

2000RPM with the foot on the brake, then foot off brake and punch the gas.

Better yet, foot on the brake, gas pedal to floor, and the transmission in reverse. On launch, throw transmission into drive and take foot off brake.
