| Many use Klasse AIO, which involves a multi-step process. Meguiars NXT seems to work pretty well for me and the shine lasts about 3-4 months. |

A while back there was a Zaino lovefest in this forum. I tried the whole system and the results were very good but wwaaaaayy more work than it was worth. I never found a polish as difficult to remove and buff.
NowI use Meguiar's. It goes on and off about as easy as anything I've ever used and the application I put on last September is still holding up pretty well. |

Klasse AIO
Meguiar's NXT wax
Menzerna Acrylic Shield
With a Porter Cable, the AIO and NXT are very easy to apply. |

If you found it very difficult to remove, you may have used too much. A buddy and I did his Mustang and my Pilot in about 6 hours last fall, and although it involved multiple steps, it was easier to remove than regular wax and is still holding up very well. I had an advantange as my friend had used it before and showed me how |

Anyone have experience with:
Klasse AIO & Klasse High Gloss Sealant
How many coates of the sealant is recommended?
also, heard that a coat of carnuba should be applied after sealer?
thoughts?
thanks... |

2 coats meguiars #20 polymer sealant for even coating - they say 24 hours between to let 1st coat cure
24 hours after 2nd coating of #20, 1 coat of meguiars high tech yellow wax...
it seems like a process, but each one only takes about 1/2 hour...you just need 3 consecutive days to do it!
#20 for incredible protection and hightech yellow wax for the "wet" look...great with our black car! |

I used both and it wasn't a big deal. I clay barred the Pilot since it had never been done. You don't need to clay bar often, maybe just once year or every two years depending o if you park under trees, travel a lot etc.
Then I used the Klasse AIO. Easy to use, Don't use a lot. A little goes a long ways.
I let it dry and then put on the sealant. Again, a little goes a long ways. I use both at least twice a year, once in the spring as soon as it warms up enough to wash and wax and then again in the fall around Sept or Oct trying to get a good coat on before winter sets in.
During the summer I just use the Klasse AIO in between like after long trips or when it looks dirty.
Oh yeah and use Stoner's Invisiglass, far better than Windex, and its recommended by Jay. :D |

I'm in the AIO camp - very easy to use and long-lasting results. I prep with a claybar like Sportymonk, then finish off my detailing by polishing the glass with Stoners Invisible Glass. |

Nope. First I followed the directions to the letter. Then, I experimented with all possible variables: Using less / using more; leaving it on longer / removing it sooner; cooler day / warmer day; I even tried it in the sun, and I would normally never do that with a polish or wax. Almost no change no matter what I did. I used up the whole kit experimenting.
Meguiar's just brushes off like dust, works almost as well and lasts just as long. |

Silver will never give you the results you want to see. You just have to trust that the work was worth it, having faith that your baby is protected from the elements.
A deep dark blue Scion, on the other hand, made it all worthwhile, with the highly reflective gloss, and very easy washups afterwards. |

"Klasse All in one and the Klasse Sealant Glaze have a reputation that speaks for itself. These state-of-the-art products will polish and protect the painted surfaces on your vehicle. Klasse Wax Products produce the depth and clarity of a high quality carnauba wax but lasts much longer. One or two applications of Klasse wax a year will keep your car protected and looking great!
Acrylic is the Solution. Acrylic is different than wax, silicones, and polymers. This polish will bond to your car’s surface just like the previously mentioned treatments, but it will not cause any change to your paint, and you don’t have to worry about drying time. Klasse All In One dries as fast as you apply it, and there is no risk of hazing or streaking. All-In-One contains no abrasives or silicones, and does not stain plastic, vinyl or rubber trim. It can be used on any non-porous surface, and in addition to car care it is also approved for marine and aviation use.
First introduced in 1979, Klasse All In One Polish changed everything about the way people polished cars. Klasse All In One Polish will remove oxidation, minor swirls, old wax, and other surface blemishes; leaving a beautiful and deep acrylic shine. Unlike some formulas, Klasse will not penetrate or change paint.
Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze is a highly concentrated acrylic formula glaze for new cars and oxidation-free surfaces. High Gloss Glaze provides an additional protective layer over the All-In-One with an exceptionally brilliant mirror-like shine.
High Gloss Sealant Glaze creates an elastic, non-chip, shrink-proof, heat and scratch resistant - protective seal against ultraviolet rays, salt water, acid rain and industrial pollutants for up to 12 months. Use this glaze on all paints with or without clear coats, glass, fiberglass, Plexiglass, plastics, metal surfaces, enamel, tiles, Formica and all non-porous surfaces. It is anti-static, non-abrasive and contains no ingredients harmful to paint, metal or plastic."

According to Consumer's Report Meguires and Zymol are middle of the pack. The top rated were Black Magic Wet Shine and Turtle Wax Carnauba Car Wax T-6. Eagle One Nanowax was next but down rated for mediocre durability.

Do you guys use a polisher when using the AIO and Sealer? Thinking about getting a Porter Cable 7424 and did not know whether there would be a big difference in the turnout.

I've always been partial to Griot's Garage Best of Show Wax. Easy to put on/remove, great shine and durability. Griot's gets a premium price, but I've always been happy with their service and the results.
I'm about to try their Paint Sealant on my wife's 1997 CR-V prior to selling it. The CR-V is black, so results will be apparent right away.
The CR-V is being retired after 133K bulletproof miles. We picked up our 2007 Pilot this week.
My wife LOVES her new Pilot! |

I googled up Menzerna FMJ. Is that what you meant? |

J, you got it :). Really, I was a regular over at Autopia (Acura TL-S/e46 M3), and I have to say, that product received more compliments than just about anything on the market for ease of use, durability, and shine.
:1: <-- btw, what is that? |

I use the PC with the gray Lake Country Pad to apply to AIO. The PC allows me to do it faster. Downside is that the pad absorbs too much chemical so you use more as compared to applying it by hand.
It is not recommended to apply Klasse SG with a PC as you only need very thin coat. You'll know if you put too much SG as it will be very hard to remove. You can sprtitz Quick Detailer to make it easier to remove SG. |

| Thanks - bought the whole PC 7424 kit with pads, bonnets, etc.. Got the AIO, HGS, XMT2, Pinacle Liquid Soverign - now, the waiting sucks... |

| Consider Nu-finish (in the orange bottle). It goes on and comes off really easy. You can even put in on in direct sunlight. It is not as reflective as some waxes though but it beads water for a long time. Sometimes I put a coat of MaGuires Gold Class on, which is a very reflective wax. Both of these are inexpensive and available locally at Wal*Mart. They are one step processes, although a second coat of NuFinish is recommended in 30 days for maximum life. I don't doubt there are better products that are much more expensive, not available locally and involve multiple steps. For many of us, these products are more than good enough. |

I dont recommend NuFinish. I used it for about 3 years on a Honda I had and I got fish-eyes so bad in the paint I had to totally repaint the car. the friend at the auto painting shop told me he sees that alot with folks that use that product. I just stick with good carnuba waxes and have not had a problem since. |

| Wow! How often did you apply the NuFinish? Could you have over-applied it? I have been using it on my cars including my Civic Si, applying about twice a year (I don't drive the Si in the winter). I have not seen anything like that! |

yea, I think if you use it sparingly you would be ok, I put it on monthly and it ended up drying out my paint.. I didnt know that was possible but it is. I think on the bottle it actually tells you to put it on sparingly. I just switched over to Carnuba as I apply it so often, and it keeps the paint conditioned. |

Thanks for the reply. I am going to be extra careful with NuFinish. Can you tell me...the problem you had...was it with a clear-coat finish...and about how many years ago was it? I have to check to be sure, but I think I remember that years ago, NuFinish made a formulation change...but I need to research that to be sure.
I know sometimes products have problems that get fixed...and people just keep remembering their bad experiences. I know some old timers that won't use PennZoil because of problems in the 70s (or was that the 60s)...and some people denounce Armor All...I think their beef was it has silicone in it...which I believe was removed from the formulation many years ago. |

| I agree with what you guys are saying about Nu-Finish. It has its uses, but I wouldn't use it as a regular wax. I've used it for years as a bug and tar remover, and it does a great job. For a wax I prefer McGuiars (I can never remember how to spell that right!) Gold Class. I tried their new NXT (not so new anymore) and it goes on an off easily, but I didn't feel it gave me as deep a shine or lasted as long. |

This would have been 5 years ago now, not sure if the formulation changed since then or not. I just remember that the paint was in excellent shape, had a good clear coat on it, and after about 3 years I was seeing fish eyes or cracking all over the car, the paint guy said he sees that a lot with folks that apply it too often, as it was designed (at that point) as a durable long life product and as such was pretty strong, I guess it got down through the clear coat in time and just started to dry out the paint and it started cracking. I have not seen the issue since just using good ol Carnuba wax. |

I like to use Klasse AIO and a few layers of SG. Works great on my cayenne red car. My Pilot is silver, which doesn't seem to allow a deep shine.
I recommend claying the car first to remove contaminants (if you have not clayed before, you will not believe how smooth the paint gets). If the paint has swirl marks, applying 3M swirl mark remover before the Klasse AIO works well (especially with a Porter Cable).
The sealant glaze needs to be applied sparingly. Applying by hand using a sponge applicator moistened with a bit of detailing spray works well. |

UPDATE:
The Griot's Garage Paint Sealant worked very well. Extremely easy to apply/remove, almost NO residue on my microfiber towels. Very good shine, beads water very well. Their Paint Sealant is a synthetic wax like Zaino. It was much easier to work with than their Best Of Show wax.
I'll be applying this to the Pilot before our next road trip. |

| Zaino fan here. Started using it on my FX-35 2 years ago and love the stuff - It is NOT hard to apply nor remove - not sure what the others are talking about saying it's hard to remove (unless they put it on thick and heavy!) |
