| I had the Dealer install the Honda Music Link for my iPOD. Although the sound is terrific, the controls really stink. Even with the Honda TTS software it's really difficult to control the iPOD and get to the exact track you want to listen to. The only option that really works is shuffling all songs. Has anyone had any experiences with the Music Link and TTS Software? Is there some better software, or a hack that can contol the iPOD better?? |

I want to connect my iPod to the factory stereo. Is buying this Link the only option I have?
Is there any other way around this beside buying a new deck? |

| There are other options, do you want something hard wired or wireless? |

| Take a look at the Audio & Electronics forum or do a search. There are MANY topics on this subject already. |

Wireless.... I have a Kensington Wireless transmitter for my iPod. This thing is one of the best FM Modulators I have tried. Worked awesome in my Jeep. Works great in the wifes Subaru. It blows chunk in my Pilot.
I'd go hardwired. Or at least try a buddies FM modulator first. The FM reception of the factory unit is sub-par.
IMO. |

| Nathan, thanks for the info. I may take it up with my dealer when I go in for my first oil change. I guess I should have researched the Music Link a little more, huh. I did all the research on the Pilot itself. At least that research was accurate. It's an awesome vehicle! |

No problem, I've never been a fan of the wireless transmitters, but I got this one in my Honda, works nice, very clear, very slight amounts of static. It is a hard wired fm transmitter...Check it out.

Do all of your Pilots not have the cassette player in the factory radio? Why not just get an $8 cassette adaptor and plug it into the headphone jack? I have been doing it for a long time with no problems what so ever. I looked at a lot of options and didn't see the point of spending a lot of $ to get something like the MusicLink installed, or even buying a FM transmitter given that none of them are crystal clear.
1.)No static interference...always crystal clear sound
2.)Much cheaper than any options listed above
3.)Controlled using the iPod scolling wheel |

No cassette player in the 2007 Pilot. I have a cassette adaper in my wife's car. It's better then the FM transmitter I had in my old SUV, but the sound quality doesn't come close to a hard wired connection. Plus you're missing the convenience and saftey of using the radio/steering wheel controls
I found a better solution.
There are left, right and video RCA jacks facing the rear pasangers behind the center console (arm rest). Honda was even kind enough to put a groove in the side of the center console so you can run RCA cables into the console and to the front and still close the armrest. Again it's my fault for not researcing the rear entertainment system and realizing that there would be inputs! I actually didn't expect to end up with the rear entertainment system or leather for that matter. We decided last minute to splurge a little. Never had vehicle this nice before.
Thanks for all the postings and suggestions. I'm going to keep the MusicLink and use it when I am just shuffling all songs (i already dumped the retarded TTS software!) and the RCA's for specific music/songs.
 |

| Ahh...yes, that would work. I don't have the Rear Entertainment System in my Pilot, so for me the cassette adapter was the best route (since I have a CD/cassette combo, that is.) |
