| Hi Piloteers! Just got my new '07 in mid May and was wondering how you guys deal with the height of the roof when washing and especially waxing. Standing on a ladder or chair can be shaky when buffing out wax! Thanks!! |

| Just get a sturdy chair or step ladder. |

When I work on the front area, I stand on my sidesteps....
Toward the back, I stand on the top of the rear tire. You can get really good leverage when working the wax off the top. Works really great for me!! |

| Side steps work great. I'll have to try the rear tire! |

| You can buy a plate-shaped sponge that's attached to long stick. It makes short work of cleaning my Pilot's roof. |

For washing, I got a long handled soft brush from a local Pep Boys or Kragen. It's about 18" long. I use a small step stool when drying the roof.
I also use the step stool when I'm waxing the roof. |

I've got a 4' step ladder I used. I found the side steps put me too close for waxing and washing, and I would get soaked when washing.
I put the cross bars on and that was a big mistake. They should be re-named knuckle busters. Then I made another mistake and put cross bars on the van. Same PITA.
Oh, and if you think the Pilot has some acreage up there....try an Ody! |

| I believe it is griot's that makes the thing that hooks over the tire and allows you something a little easier to stand on. The rear tire works for me though. When it comes to waxing the roof I usually just open the door and stand in there so I have a more stable grip on something. I'm usually using a machine to polish with though, so I'm not up there very long. |
