Well, the wife came home the other day and stated" I want a sportier car". Um, ok, like what? "An Acura TL" Alrighty then, good choice. :roadtrip:
My usual vehicle purchasing ploy is to go to a couple local stealerships and tell them what I want to buy, and what I'm trading, and then let them beat each other up. Since there's only 1 Acura dealership in town, there's nobody else to beat on.
Any suggestions? |

I'd guess they're (dealerships) wanting to unload the '07s over the next 6-8 weeks or so. We bought our TL a year ago - with two dealers in town. Never visited #2. The nicest part about the deal was that it was first time I'd bought a car that I didn't HAVE to buy the car (I usually run them into the ground). The price on the car didn't change much over the 6 weeks of negotiating (yeah, I kinda drug it out, what with vacations and scout camp...), but I kept firm on the price of the trade-in (2001 Accord). They finally came around to the price I wanted on the Accord (very close to blue book retail).
It's nice to walk away from a deal and feel comfortable about it. Whether you're walking away without the car or driving away in the new ride.
FWIW: I got a Auto TL with NAV. The kids don't care about no RES in the TL - they just enjoy watching the map. Cheap entertainment.

| are there acura dealers in the next town? before buying the pilot, I sent emails to all dealers within 50 miles. to me, saving a few hundred is worth driving that extra distance. |

There are Acura dealers in Buffalo and Syracuse, about 1-1/2 hours away either way. I'm not really too interested in going all that way. I thought maybe I'd pit Acura against Infinty and Lexus. Again, there's only one of each in the area.
I noticed they have a TL lease and 1.9% finance deals going until the 5th of July. The salesdude said they have '08's rolling in come July....which sounds a bit early to me.
I think the model year makeover is due soon for the TL as well as the TSX, too. |
