| A quick pic of our new canoe bringing it back ontop of the Pilot to our newly purchased cottage. |

I saw your photo of carrying a canoe and was wondering if you set it right on the cross bars? I have to pick one up next weekend and was hoping for some tips.
Thanks |

Sorry, just logged on after being away last week.
No, we don't have cross bars. We just purchased the car top canoe carrier kit - it has foam pads that fit in the gunwalls and sit on top of the roof. (4 points) Then we tied it down. |

Can you provide some additional info as far as what kit you got exactly? A link would be even better! Thanks! |

We bought the kit from the canoe manufacturer. (along with paddles and the safety kit) He said he was selling this stuff at cost to us since we bought the canoe from them.
I found the website for the car top carrier kit:

You could probably find something like it at boat dealers or auto accesories-type stores. (I am not sure what you have in the US)
I hope this helps. |
