Dealer Protection Package - Click HERE for Original Thread

The dealer applied the protective package to the exterior paint and on the interior on the leather and plastic. Is there any problems with using leather wipes and other detailing products (exterior and interior) even though these other products have been applied?

The protection does not work on your car, it is designed to work at the dealership. The beauty of the "Dealer Protection Package" was designed to put more profit into the dealership and take more money out of your wallet, with some fancy name of a wax and other chemicals, that cost them next to nothing and cost you big time. You indeed have given the dealer their extra protection and profit.

Understood. I knew going in that what I was really paying for is the insurance that if the leather fades in 7 years they replace it (not likely to happen anyway). I spent a few hundred dollars since my fiance is convinced that is worth the extra money and convincing her otherwise is nearly impossible.

That being said, I assume that they simply used a leather conditioner and some wax to make it look good and that if I buy some Wolfgang products there shoudln't be any compatibility issues?

Just the normal whatever takes your fancy.

Sorry you had to waste your money on the DPP

Back to your question. Some dealer packages include a renewal kit. I believe it is for the paint. Not sure if there is one for the interior. I wouldn't worry about it though. Just do what you want to clean and treat the interior.

Smart man. Think of it as insurance that you will not have to hear, "I told you so," for the next 50 years. :)
