| Is it correct that the leather seats have leather seating surfaces but the sides are vinyl. Also, are the door inserts real leather or vinyl? Lastly, the third row is all vinyl correct? |

I believe the answer is yes to all of your statements (at least it was true for our '04 EX-L/RES).

yes, that's why most of them are call "leather trim". They put leather only on the seating surface.
It's the same as most M. Benz, BMW, Lexus, etc. |

Historically, if not currently, Benz offered a "leatherette" with the comforts of leather and durability of vinyl, and none of it was leather, IIRC.:p |

This is true for many of the BMW 3 series as well in the basic trim.

I started to say the seat isn't the one suffering but looking at the photo, that seat is definitely the one "suffering" if you get my drift. :p |

Ok, my seats don't do that. Something doesn't add up here...were you not wearing pants while driving your Pilot or something? :2: |

| The MDX models up to '06 was similar. Leather where you sit but vinyl sides. |

Well now that it has been confirmed, here is the question: Do people use an armor all type product on the vinyl sides and a leather treatment on the seating surfaces or just use the leather treatment on all surfaces?
Since the vinyl won't absorb anything I assume a different product will be the best. |

Hello-new pilot owner!!
I find reference to the seating surface vs seat sides a bit confusing. Is the top of the seat leather or just the center of the seats??
Thanks.

| all of the high traffic areas (tops, fronts etc) of the seats are leather, all the places where there wont be much interaction are vinyl. I use a mix of both Maguires leather wipes or Lexol and some 303 protectant. With three years on my seats (only 29000 miles) they look brand new still |
