Does putting car seats on the EXL model damage the leather? If yes, is there any way to provent the damage from happening?

I prefer this one:

Kiddopotamus & Co. Elite DuoMat 2-in-1 Seat Protector

It goes high enough to protect the back of the seat too. Target carries them or find them online.

or another great alternative is to get some bathroom floor mats. The rubber backing keeps them from sliding all over the place and the plush top part helps trap the crumbs in the mat and not all over the floor. It is a cheap alternative to some of the other options out there. Unless you are taking the carseats in and out of your vehicle then there really isn't any real pro for the official purpose ones and bath mats. If you remove the car seats a lot then you might want something that form fits to the seat a little better.

Try a couple of terry cloth towels.
