Well, Thanksgiving and the shopping season are upon us. Christmas is 7 weeks away !!:eek:
What do you want for your Pilot?
What do you want in general?
For the Pilot, I would like a portable GPS system that I can move from car to car and use walking if necessary. Recommendations?
2. A set of either Goodyear Silent Armors, or Bridgestone Alanzas, or Firestone Destination LE's.
For me,
1. I would like a new laptop battery for my Apple Powerbook Pro, the old one is four years old and won't hold a charge long. Maybe an upgrade to Leopard 10.5 to replace my 10.3 Panther.
2. Want my family home together, safe and sound.
3. Want to know what to get my wife. |

Great minds ... I'm getting my wife new tires for her Pilot but haven't decided which ones yet. Unfortunately she doesn't love new tires the way I do so I don't think they will count as her Christmas present. I'm afraid she'd rather remodel the kitchen and bathroom. :eek: & :eek:
I'm also thinking of a very small BT keychain GPS receiver that will work with my WM phone: Link
My 5-year-old wants a laptop and a telescope from Santa so I'll be looking into that stuff with great interest. I still remember my first telescope. Not yet sure what my 3-year-old wants, probably another kitty cat and a dog and a couple of birds.
Of course, we mostly just want our families together and warm and safe and full of hope and love for each other!

My CR-V has been dropping hints about wanting some new tires, but I would like to wait until AFTER our Alaska trip next year. :cool:
My 650 is getting panniers - probably an early present. :)
My 1000 and the "3" are getting nothing. :(
Mrs. Colorider has not told me yet what she is getting!!

That is a great price!!! I was all ready to buy the same exact TV about 3 weeks ago, but opted for the Panasonic TH-50PZ700U 50" Plasma at the last minute. We replaced a little 26" so it was quite a change!!

My wife and son gave me $300 to spend on a GPS for the Pilot, I have been wanting one for a while.... I am pretty sure I will go with the TomTom 720. I missed a deal on the Garmin 650 last week :(
So technically that is for hte Pilot :)
For me, I am thinking about getting a PS3 for me and my son, my wife tripped over the controller cord for my PS2 and its doesn't seem to want to work anymore.
My son wil be getting a Thomas the Train Table set.
My wife will be getting theater tickets/dinner/night in NYC

Those Thomas the Tank Engine table top set-ups are great. It might seem cool to get the kind where you can change the track configuarion but in the long run you'll probably wish you got the kind that's glued down. A friend of mine got the former and we got the latter. He thought that he and his son would really enjoy making new track designs every night but that gets old very fast and theirs is always in a million pieces now. If you're interested, I can PM you a guy in North Jersey who has very good prices and is easy to work with--just have to get the name from my wife. |

OK, here's the guy, he's near Asbury, NJ, so it's really central Jersey, not north. The store itself is a bit of a dive, but I think he does most of his business over the 'Net and on eBay. Good prices, good availability of some of the more obscure characters, and friendly.

I'd love to get a really good solution for merging my iPhone with the factory nav - i'd even be willing to go with an inline fm transmitter. Maybe for an end of the year project, I'll just have my 8 year old Valentine One shipped in for a much needed update - and rework the wiring so it turns on/off with the ignition.
As for my wants, its pretty simple and cheap this year. I'd like to get 4 good FRS radios - just in case the BIG ONE hits SF and me and the wifey get separated while at work. We would just leave a radio in each of our offices, one in the Pilot, and one at home. |

i recently purchased a set or Motorola 14 mile range walkie talkies from best buy for my son to use fro Halloween. The rep there said they were state of the art. I charged them up and quickly realized they were junk. They are all packed up and ready to go back to the store ...
They are a great idea, I am wondering if you have to spend more than 40 a set to get a decent pair ? |

There's a disclaimer that the 14 mile range is GMRS, and operating on the GMRS frequencies requires an FCC license.
The typical range for FRS is up to a mile, as I understand the technology. |
