I can't believe people really fall for some of this conspiracy stuff. The moon landing fake? With all the technology we got from the UFO that crashed in New Mexico? Give me a break!

I always find it VERY disturbing when people believe this sort of stuff. It makes you realize how much people listen to others rather than using their own common sense.

The faked moon landing is farcical. To be true, literally hundreds of thousands of people would have had to engage in a vast conspiracy to manipulate all sorts of evidence over nearly half a century. Every one of the conspiracy theorists' "smoking gun" revelations showing it was faked (e.g., why in all the photos are there no stars in the moon's sky?) can be explained by someone who has taken a science course in high school.

But there are many Sherri Shepherds in this world who you ask them if the world is round or flat, their response is "Never thought about it much; I guess I could look it up if I needed to know." These people who don't think about things much are very susceptible to suggestion.

I recently attended a college lecture where everyone in the room was asked a question about what countries had landed people on the moon. It was multiple choice with answers like none, just the USSR, just the US, several countries, etc. About a third of the lecture hall of bright people voluntarily attending a college lecture got it wrong. If you were born after the moon landing, the chances of an average person answering the question right are about 50-50. Wow.

Around here there aren't any realtor parties. Not with this housing market.:1:

Landing on the moon is the greatest achievement in human history. Sadly most people have no appreciation of the events.

Not around here either--a neighbor just their house on the market becuase of a divorce and their asking price is less than it's assessed value and they surely won't get that, big beautiful newly built home that they lived in for less than 2 years discounted to a mere $1.3M.

What about a collection of writings from about two to four thousand years ago arbitrarily compiled into a book?

What about the one-time utterances of a single individual from the 7th century that were repeated only by word-of-mouth for several hundred years before they were first entered into written form?

Do you believe?

Sic et non. The imaginings of the human heart can be both true and false at different levels of reality.
