OEM alloy rims *without installing* TPMS - Click HERE for Original Thread

Are there any difficulties using OEM alloy rims (that have been designed to hold a TPMS sensor) without TPMS?

I read that the OEM alloy rims are designed to hold the TPMS sensor package. Presumably they're designed to be nominally balanced in this configuration.

If the TPMS sensor is not installed, I'm thinking that the missing mass might have to be made up with additional counter weights to keep the wheel balanced.

I think I found an answer at www.acuraworld.com:

If you don't need the TPMS, just put in valve stems and leave them out.

It won't throw off the wheel balance because you'd balance the rims once the tire was mounted, anyway.
