Here is my first generation Pilot with VTM4.
2003 Model - picked it up 8/2002, now with 45K and zero problems.

'92 miata i have owned for 8 years. here are some of my 'improvements':

p&p head, gasket matched, bench lowed, 5angle valves, shaved.

gt2554r turbo with ported turbine, manifold, 2.5" downpipe and exhaust. i downgraded from a gt28 for response

standalone engine management.

mazdaspeed competition LSD with shotpeened ring and pinion.

larger brakes from a '01 miata.

4 pt rollball with 5 pt harnesses.

Majic JIC flt-a2 coilovers with 9/6k springs.

uograded control arms (all 8) with P/U bushings. steel inserts and eccentric inserts for camber.

larger front rollbar, no rear bar.

magenium watanabe wheels with toyo ra1 r-comp tires (i drive on these in the dryer months)

forged SSR type c with hankook rs2 for the rain.

hard top with custom latches (for rigidity).

custom leather seats.

the car weighs just under 2300#

i have done 90% of the work myself. power figures before moving to california was 242hp @ the wheels, 226 ft/lbs tq.

this is just a small list. it's a hobby of mine.

the bottom end of the motor is 100% stock 1.6l. i try to keep it looking relatively stock, it's a sleeper. :2:

How does it do on the track?
At 242 hp and only weighing 2300 lbs, that should be a real sleeper.

it can be a handful. i went to a smaller turbo that is a bit easier to manage on mid-corner boost.

the suspension helps quite a bit.

in the current configuration, it is about 200hp, but is far easier to control and less finicky at the track. over 220hp, the wheelbase becomes a detriment to the chasis and it requires a lot of attention. it's fun, no doubt, but it will bite you in the canyons.

How about an ex-weekend car?

Not the best pic, but this is my other 'fun' car.

I love the Pilot for all of its virtues we've posted over the years, particularly the VTEC power of that wonderful motor. When I feel the need to have my kidneys busted around just a bit, I drive this.

Nah, I really just drive it for around town errands. I can't fully justify driving around the Pilot for small stuff. Now if I have to go to Home Depot for a bunch o' stuff, I'd drive the Pilot.

The pop up is just there as a joke, I tow it to the lake with my wife's Pontiac Vibe while my Pilot hauls the boat.

I was just screwing around and took a joke of a pic to post on the local 240SX website.
