My daily driver (Altima with 210K) is in need of summer tires. I don't want to spend a ton of money as the car could die tomorrow for all I know. I had a set of Pirelli P3000's which I got almost 150K out of (yes...150,000 miles), but don't want to spend the money on a nice tire like that again.
Any recommends? I've even thought about a set of GY Intergities. Yes, they suck on the Pilot, but they are OEM on a ton of passenger cars, they are cheap and they are just summer tires. |

For those specific type needs, don't ignore Hankook (found on many new Fords) Kumho etc.

| The Motomaster SE is actually on sale now and yes I did think that. My Dad still uses Motomaster tires. |

Motomaster SE don't come in my size.
Toyo Spectrum are discontinued, but replaced by the Eclipse. $537.28 installed all in.
Talked to dealer that I bough the Pirelli's from. He has a tire called the Geostar (which is a subsidiary of Yokohama)...$393.01 installed all in. |

| I recommend Hankook Optimo. These are very quiet tires compare to Bridgestone Potenza and Dunlop SP on my previous Accord. |

If you're really looking for summer tires and not just all-seasons, Tire Rack has a great closeout deal on Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions--fantastic tire on dry & wet. A couple of steps lower in (ultra high) performance but better tread life from Kumho Ecsta SPTs for a little less $. These would work better as the weather gets colder but neither should ever be used in snow under any circumstances.

If you have WalMarts in Canada, check out the Douglas brand tire at WalMart. Not real expensive tires.
Another less known but inexpensive brand is Sigma tires. Go here for a Canadian Sigma dealer.

Yes we have Wal-Marts. I looked there thinking it would be a cheap alternative and it was not really that cheap. (plus installation, balancing, etc). Unfortunately, we still pay more for everything in Canada. Even when we were worth 1.10 USD. The CDN and USD have been fairly even for quite a while now but we still pay more on day to day stuff.
As far as Tire Rack by the time I get them shipped I've not saved. I'd be concerned if there are any problems, Tire Rack will blame the installer and the installer will blame Tire Rack and I'm SOL.
Unless something better comes along, I think I'm going with Geostars. |

Some tire places will "price match" (or come close) Tire Rack. Simply bring in the data, including shipping, and see what the local shop will do.

Yes, 3 of my last 4 tire purchases involved a local tire dealer coming close, matching, or even bettering Tire Rack's prices. The 4th purchase was really an alignment specialist who mostly did Tire Rack drop shipping. |
