Exhaust Tip Question - PM-554 - Click HERE for Original Thread

So I found this exhaust tip on ebay for a great price and I finally got it home and installed it last night. My question is, how much of the tip should cover the exhaust pipe? It was a very snug fit (used WD-40 and a rubber mallet) and I have it on there so the bolts are touching the tailpipe so I’m not worried about it falling off. Should the end of the tail pipe meet the end of the tip, or is it just a looks thing and just as long as the tip is secured to the tail pipe everything is ok? Anyone with tips or suggestions, please let me know, thanks.

I just installed mine this weekend. I left about an inch between the muffler and the end of the exhaust tip if that helps. I will take a pic and post it so you can see it.

I am kind of surprised that so many said that they had to pound them on with a mallet........mine just slid right on and I tightened them down. :8:
