wheels and tires to fill out fender flares - Click HERE for Original Thread
cs1bart
I have a 2008 Pilot EX-L and had the running boards and fender flares added. Now the stock wheels and tires look too small. Any suggestions on a wheel and tire combo that will fill them out?

The fender flares are only cosmetic, so the tire sizes the fit do not change.

Thank you colorider; you can probably give me some good advice on this. The flares do add a little width to the pilot. I was looking at either some 18 or 19 wheels, but what is the widest wheel that will fit? I don't think I will take it off roading much, but I need good dry and winter performance. Any thoughts?

I can't recommend any particular size, but you may want to do a search in this section of the forum (Tires and Wheels) as others have been down this road before you! :) The TireRack website also has some info on optional sizes.

Good Luck

does anyone know if the flares for 06-08 Pilot come painted to match?

Hey CS1. The search tool is your friend, but check out my signature for wheel/tire specs.

You may not find a tire that will be good for all seasons when upsizing, especially for your winters, but if you keep the OEMs you can do the seasonal swap.

The Toyos do well in the snow, but I can't speak for their performance in the deep stuff cuz I've never had the experience.

Good luck and welcome!

The 06-08 fender flares come in black only. I checked with two local Honda dealers here in CT, as well as Majestic in R.I. where I get many of my accessories. I have been thinking about getting them anyway, as I have a silver LX which, being an LX, has a good deal of black trim already (door handles, mirrors, rear spoiler), and has the side steps and roof rack which are black. Still would like to see them on a Pilot first though, and in the 3 years I've had mine, have yet to come across one which had the flares on. Hmmmm. I'm sure they can be painted, but I would think they'd have to be painted correctly to begin, and being flexible, I'd be concerned about cracking and chipping down the road.

You should check Boomer's thread on his Pilot and Wheel combo here:

I will be doing the same with my 04 Pilot which has fender flares.

Wheels: 20x8.5 with +35mm offset
Tires: 255/45/20

I hear ya- but I think w/ a flex agent it prob will be ok on the cracking- I know the 03-05 came w/ color matched ones- By the way I saw an EX White w/ black ones and it looked pretty nice but youre right since there was enough contrast it looked good- mine is a green but here si a link to one same color as mine w/ black flares let me know what you think, I thinks it looks great for a off road style but I'm going more lux or I would like to atleast, LOL http://www.cardomain.com/ride/23317...related&order=4
