I have this oppertunity to get almost brand new (New Take offs less than 1000 miles) 4 stock Integrities for $190. Also, my buddy would be able to mount and balance all four for $50. So, for $250, I can have this new set on the Pilot.
My question is there such a difference between these supposedly bad tires and other tires that are being recommended here? Btw, I am in Arizona and 99% of the driving is done on dry roads.....:2:
Considering that a new set will last for another 30K miles or so, difference in money (additional $600 or what ever $) is not a big deal....
The real question is whether "Is there such a diference?" |

| For that price and for where you live, I would say yes, but if you were living in a snowy or rainy region then I would run away from those things as fast as I can! |

+1
Sounds like a good deal!!! |

| Would your buddy also mount and balance other tires for $50 or does that only apply to the Integrities? I don"t like 'em much compared with good tires designed for SUVs, but I have to admit my most important criteria are wet performance and frequent trips to the Adirondacks (lotsa snow in Winter, very mild off-roading or mud in Spring), especially when my wife is driving with the kids. Still, I can easily tell the difference on dry pavement. I would never put Integrities back on the Pilot, but I don't really know anything about driving in Arizona. Have you ever driven a Pilot with something like GY Fortera TripleTreds or Michelin Cross Terrains? If you can compare, that will help you make a more informed decision. |

agreed. i've driven in snowy/icy conditions with the factory [lack of] integrities and surprisingly, they were decent, but i was still not completely confident driving through the mountains. |

I have not driven the Pilot with any other tires so there is nothing much to compare. Infact, my wife drives Pilot and and I would have driven Pilot less than 5% of the time.
My biggest decision factors are on Safety, Comfort, Handling...if they are met, I guess I am OK with these tires.
This buddy of mine is from my Auto-x club :) and just chrages $10/tire for mounting and balancing ....Atleast that is the case with the cars. |

Put 'em on and don't look back. I'm the original owner of my nearly 4 yr old Pilot. It turned over 50,300 miles today on a 300 mile round trip from Houston to Austin, TX. Still on the OEM Integrities...
We sure don't get any snow/ice but it is rainy in south Texas. These tires still have 5/32" tread depth on the edges and 6/32" in the middle of the tire.
Considering that they only start with 10/32" when brand new, I think the wear (or lack thereof) is great! I personally think tires are junk when 4/32" is reached. So.... 10 - 4 = 6/32" usable life. Half of that is 3/32" and when you start at 10 and use 3/32", you are technically at half worn at 7/32"
I'm just under that.... maybe 60% worn down.
Again, I live in the Houston area and have been supremely impressed with the GY's. But.... I plan on putting new tires on in a few months and I won't be going with Gy's. I need something taller and slightly wider than OEM. |

| I wouldn't. I was never happy with the OEM Goodyears. I dumped them after 4k miles. My take on tires is I put the best ones I can afford on. Think of it as an insurance policy. Your life is riding on 4 little patches of rubber and you need them to perform well. No...when it comes to tires, I NEVER compromise and buy cheap or used ones. jm2c. |

True, true....
But, I've never been unpleasantly surprised by my Integrities.
Agreed... buy the best you can afford 'cause your life IS riding on those 4 little contact patches. |

Let's hope you will NEVER be surprised by your Integrities! I just didn't care for the fact that they never seemed to corner well and didn't seem to perform well in the wet. I'm not a real agressive driver but don't drive ultra conservative either and sliding around or not stopping is not acceptable. btw, sold my integrities for $20 ea. |

Ditto from Northeast Ohio, horrible on snow & ice, best on dry road conditions. |

These are the biggest factors that I consider in tires also and the Goodyears did not meet those factors.
:)
With that said I took off the GY's with 12,000 miles (10/32 left) and replaced them with BFG Long Trail T/A's and couldn't be happier.:D
I wouldn't put the GY's back on there if they were free.
I just have to find someone that likes them to buy my take off's.:4:

Are you refering to GY's saftey and comfort other than dry conditions? |

It seems you have made up your mind already. Most posts regarding thei GY's are lukewarm at best which tells you something. I can't remember one post which the poster was telling us how good his gy's were and he would go right out and purchase another set. |

SoCal driver here. Almost always on dry pavement.
I used the Integrity tires for about 20k and then ditched them for the CTs and was surprised by how better they were in all manners. Let's put it this way, if I can find a shop that'll give me a decent trade-in cost, I'm going to ditch the set that came on my 08 before they get 400 miles on them. |

My local GY guy will switch them out provided they're brand new. Check it out ahead of time and just drive the car straight to the tire shop. |

Especially in other than dry conditions but in dry conditions also.
You will be astounded at how much better your Pilot will drive with better tires on it.:4:
You will be amazed at how much quieter other tires are over the GY's. Road noise is considerable less with the BFG's on it.:4:
In wet and sowy conditions you already know they are inferior to many others so we will not get into that.:)

thanks guys... I haven't made up my mind yet...I was just trying to find out whether the extra $500 or $700 you pay for another set is worth its price.
If I go with another set, I am inclined to go with 245 70 16's ( based on a previos thread) |

I put a set of Fortera Triple Treads on after 40K miles with the Integrity's and the difference was AMAZING. The Pilot doesn't "float" when swerving, the road noise went down so much, I thought my ears were plugged and the grip in the snow and water is awesome.
Just my two cents.... |
