disappointed with 60K service - Click HERE for Original Thread

I got the 60K service done on my '04 EX last week (less the VTM-4, tranny fluid, and brake fluid changes). I get a call in the middle of the day saying that one shock has a leak (rear left) and some gaskets are worn causing some coolant seepage. Each of the two jobs was around $300. I declined for the time being because I was also getting a front brake job done at the same time.

I go to pick it up at the end of the day and asked for a detailed report on each item that was checked. "We don't do that sir, only for the express jobs". So I take a look at one of these blank report cards that they use for express jobs and contains a checkbox for pretty much everything that a 60K service would cover. Express service my ass. They just didn't feel like doing any paperwork for me.

To top that off, when the guy called me about the two recommendations, I asked him to include details of the problems on my bill as well as how critical it would be to have them fixed. Did he do that? No. He told me to come back the next day and it would be done. I came back TWO days later. Not done. He said he would call me today. He didn't. WTF. I'm going to complain to customer service manager tomorrow.

Am I just being too pedantic? I just traded in my crappy Mountaineer for an Odyssey. At least every time I brought the Mountaineer in for servicing I got a report card and detailed information about every recommended service or repair from the Mercury dealer. I expected more from Honda.

not all dealers are the same. some are great, some arent. the brand doesnt really have much to do with it, unless its a luxury brand in which case they typically have better customer service.

i'd suggest going to another dealer if you have more than one in your area.
