Well I spent $800 of my tax check on a new set of Michelin LTX M/S tires today (235-70R16). The road noise has decreased a great deal when compared to the Goodyear Integrity tires.
The entire set ended up costing $812 OTD, but that figure includes all four Discount Tire replacement certificates. Discount Tire also insisted on replacing some of the TPMS components, which is something that I was a bit concerned about. No issues noted so far with either the tires, balance job or TPMS system.
My wife did not want the white lettering on the sidewall facing out, so the installers mounted the tires so that the black lettering faced out instead.
I know that this a total Newbie question, but are there any issues that may be caused by mounting a tire on the rim so that the black lettering faces out instead of the intended white lettering side? Basically, I am trying to figure out if the tread on these tires is directional? |

Yes!
It is really hard to bleach the white letters well!

If they are unidirectional, they will be marked as unidirectional.
In other words, No troubles! |

| Michelin just told me over the phone that their LTX M/S line does not have directional tread and may be mounted with either the white or black lettering facing out with no impact on performance. |
