I added a device to my Pilot to track it's location on the internet and one of the features is the ability to remotely unlock my doors (like Onstar). Had the unit installed and it works perfectly except that the alarm is triggered when the unit unlocks the doors.
I know the alarm is set if i push the lock button on my key fob but it also is engaged when I push the button down on either door manually. If i enter the Pilot and push the lock down, the alarm light on the door blinks. After a few seconds, the alarm is active and when I pull up on the door lock, horn goes off (just as when the unit unlocks the doors remotely).
I need to find the circuit that the keyfob uses to unlock the doors / turn off the alarm so I dont wake the entire block when I unlock the car in the middle of the night.
Does anyone know what circuit the key fob uses to remote unlock the doors so I can have the gps unit send the unlock signal to the same location? |

| why would you constantly need to remote unlock your car like that anyways? i'd see it as a feature you would use to if you accidentally locked yourself out, but why would you use it to unlock your car in the middle of the night? |

Which Pilot do you have (year)? Here's a link to wiring info on the '04 Pilot. Honda doesn't change their color codes too often so it should be the same for the '06 and up Pilots. Just use a DMM to verify before making a connection. Look at the "Disarm No Unlock" reference. The GPS tracking unit should have a separate factory disarm wire output for this connection. |

Leave the horn hooked up.
The most it would do is help her remember why NOT to leave the keys in the car.
How does she do that any way?
She needs the remote to lock the door, why is it not on the same ring as the key, unless she is working hard to lock the door manually?  |

| I have a 2007 Pilot EX with Navi. Im not sure the 2004 wiring is the same since there was a pretty big change in 2005 and up. |

Most of the changes were cosmetic in nature with some minor engine and drivetrain tweaks. Honda typically uses the same wiring color scheme for a while. Some of the color codes in the Pilot are the same for a 1990 Accord. As a result I would still expect the color codes to be the same.
Are you going to make the wiring correction yourself or go back to the shop that did the install? If you're going the DIY route, I can't stress enough the importance of using a DMM to verify the wire you'll be tapping into. |
