Hi all,
I've got an 07 EX and since the manual is so skimpy as to what maintenance is coming up, can anyone give me a heads up about what the 20K and 25K service will consist of? I'm assuming the 30K will be the "tuneup" with trans. fluid change, etc.

Well, "skimpy" in terms of on other cars I've owned the manual has pointed out that at 15K you're doing an oil change & replacing the air filter, at 20K you've got an oil change and a tire rotation.
On this car though, you're not forewarned. You have to wait for the maintenance minder to show "A1" A2" etc. I just wondered if anyone had their 20 & 25 service yet and could let me know what it is.

Keep this list handy. You need to get past the idea that you have to do x at y mileage (unless the manual says so explicitly) and just do what the MM says. You have enough time when the warning comes up to get the needed service lined up, including getting the necessary oil.
A:
Replace engine oil
Adjust the valves during services A, B, 1, 2, or 3 only if they are noisy.
B:
Replace engine oil and oil filter
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment
Inspect tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
Inspect suspension components
Inspect driveshaft boots
Inspect brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
Inspect all fluid levels and condition of fluids
Inspect exhaust system
Inspect fuel lines and connections

Rotate tires
2:
Replace air cleaner element
If you drive primarily in dusty conditions, replace every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).
Replace dust and pollen filter
If you drive primarily in urban areas that have high concentrations of soot in the air from industry and from diesel-powered vehicles, replace every 15,000 miles (24,000 km).
Inspect drive belt

Replace transmission and transfer fluid
Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle speeds or trailer towing results in higher transmission and transfer temperatures or frequently fully loaded. This requires transmission and transfer fluid changes more frequently than recommended by the Maintenance Minder. If you regularly drive your vehicle under these conditions, have the transmission and transfer fluid changed every 30,000 miles (48,000 km).
4:
Replace spark plugs
Replace timing belt and inspect water pump
If you drive regularly in very high temperatures (over 110°F, 43°C), in very low temperatures (under -20°F, -29°C), or towing a trailer, replace every 60,000 miles (U.S.) /100,000 km
Inspect valve clearance

Replace engine coolant
6:
Replace VTM-4 rear differential fluid
Driving in mountainous areas at very low vehicle speeds or trailer towing results in higher level of mechanical (shear) stress to fluid or frequently fully loaded. This requires differential fluid changes more frequently than recommended by the Maintenance Minder. If you regularly drive your vehicle under these conditions, have the differential fluid changed at 7,500 miles (12,000 km), then every 15,000 miles (24,000 km). |

On my 06, I can't remember what the codes where, but at about 20K, I had the oil change and a tire rotation and the 25K was an oil change and the service that included engine air filter and cabin filter.
VTM4 was at 10K and hasn't come back yet.

I'm glad someone brought this up.
I just wanna know why my dealer doesn't go by the MM??
All their service intervals are TOTALLY different than what the manual states and they are crazy expensive.
They have a 15,000 mile service that is $300! WTH?
Where can I go to get just what the MM says? I wish I could DIY on maintenance but I'm not THAT mechanically inclined. And my DH is gone alot usually during service time. |

| Just go into your "favorite" dealer and have them just do what the MM says. The dealer usually has maintenance packages that they try to pawn off on car owners. Just tell them specifically what you want to be done a la carte style similar to ordering in a restaurant. |

Because they want to make money.
Go to your favorite trusted mechanic, and say "please do x" where "x" is what the maintenance minder says. |
