Mounting Nuvi Above Rearview Mirror - Click HERE for Original Thread
cdenny
I just bought a Garmin Nuvi 360 and am looking at mounting it above the rearview mirror so I can hide the power cable around the edge of the windshield. It fits, almost perfecfly, but I'm having problems getting the windshield mount to stick to the black 'dots' above the mirror. I've been thinking about fitting a mount above the headliner and have it stick out enough to stick the GPS mount to it, but I'm afraid to mess with the headliner. Has anyone else attempted to stick their GPS in this position and had any luck?

Thanks.

Same Issue,

Yesterday I bought the Nuvi 760 and wondering how to fit in my pilot 05

If you can attached some photos showing how you mounted your Nuvi
it will be easier for members to help and give suggestions

I am wondering how you managed to mounted in this place and you can still easly plug / unplug.

I haven't routed the power cable yet. I wanted to make sure I get the GPS to stay up before I went through the effort of hiding the cable. The original isn't long enough for what I want, so I'll have to create my own extended cable for it. If I get the device to actually stay for more than a few minutes, I'll post photos showing the mount.

Fixed (I hope. colorider got the thread below)

mmichel hada good idea. I have mounted like him and it works great. No marks on the glass to attract thieves. The wiring is not a problem excedpt in my photos I also have the iPod hooked up to the stereo system via a wire out of the console and the cell phone charging via a wire from the back. Normally not as bad as it looks.

I can't put the GPS around the cubby hole because I have my Inno XM receiver there. Besides the GPS and XM, I'm also mounting my remote radar detector somehwere in the cabin.
