Panel Removal and Upgrades to Audio - Click HERE for Original Thread
jlalib722
I've been reading some of these posts for a while now about upgrading the audio. I have an '06 EX-L Pilot with Nav, and my factory sub is blown out (go figure).. Planning on replacing that as well as the 4 door speakers.

Any suggestion on how to remove the door panels as well as the panel to the sub in the cargo area? I can't seem to find a good post with detailed instructions.

Any help would be cool.

Buy your replacement speakers from Crutchfield as they will give you a break down of panel removal with your purchase or use the search feature. I know this has been discussed MANY times prior to your post. Good luck...

One of the things to watch out for is that the Crutchfield instructions tell you to "pry off the trim pillar" shown here.

The problem is that if you have curtain airbags, and I think your 06 does, then that trim doesn't pry off. It has a special plastic rivet that you have to push in farther in order to remove it.

Also, I think the Crutchfield instructions don't mention removing the right 1/3 of the third row. If you don't take that seat out, it's a real pain trying to remove that panel. It's just 4 bolts holding the seat in. Do yourself a favor and take it out before trying to remove the panel covering the sub.

I'm looking for a "bolt up without hassle" speaker-only upgrade on my 06, so please post your results when you finish.
