There's been a lot of speculation here about Honda putting special "break-in" oil in the engine from the factory. One important reason to NOT change the oil until the maintenance minder says it's time for the first scheduled change.
Well, according to this ServiceNews article from August 2006 its molybenum. See the attached page for the details.

Just to clarify, the bulletin says that the molybdenum comes from the engine parts... not from the oil. It just gets mixed with the oil once the engine runs.
BTW, did you notice that the pictures in the bulletin are the same... someone just photoshopped it to make the oil look "darker". |

People have done lab tests and the level of moly in the oil is consistent with the amount that gets washed into the oil from normal assembly lube. Most think the "break in oil" thing is a myth, but OTOH, the reasons to do an early oil change have largely vanished also, especially with the relative short first interval most get with Hondas (5K or so).
I just do what the MM says.
