My X3/XM/Radar Installation - Click HERE for Original Thread

Thanks to the helpful Pilot owners here, I've installed an X3, Pioneer Inno XM receiver, and remote radar detector on my newly acquired 05 Pilot EXL.

I didn't like the idea of installing the X3 hardware in the glove box, so I installed it above the glove box. When the glove box is open, you can't see the hardware at all. I ran the cables like everyone else, but I took the first cables for the XM receiver and ran them in to the cubby hole between the heated seat switches. I also ran the XM power and antenna cables through, so the XM receiver shows very little cables at all.

So I wouldn't have to access it to add a second or third AUX device, I ran wires for each in to the front console on the bottom compartment. You can see the two input jacks in the second photo. I drilled a hole on top of the compartment, so I can either pull or push the cables as I need them.

Through the same hole, I ran the wires for my remote radar detector. I mounted it directly to the bottom of the Not An Ashtray draw so it's not very noticeable from the outside.

Lastly, I installed a three socket 12 volt power jack in the bottom console, too. I have the XM Inno plugged in to it, leaving two sockets open for whatever I may need. This also leaves the original sockets open, too.

I used Add-A-Circuit adapters for the radar detector and power jacks.

My last project will be mounting my Garmin Nuvi above the rear view mirror and hard-wiring it in to the system. I'll run the cables in the headliner and A pillar to the fuse box. I already have the cables, I just need to take the time to find the best position for the GPS.

Here's the entire console with the Inno, radar detector, and extra power sockets. The radar receiver is behind the grill on the driver side with the cables run through the firewall and then to the enter console.
