I would first go back and check those weights. A U-Haul all four wheels off the ground trailer weighs about 2500 pounds IIRC. That leaves only 2000 pounds for the car. Previous to the 09, a Pilot was rated at 3500 pounds trailer and 4500 pounds boat. Everybody says the difference is the aerodynamics of the boat. So you are either slightly over or near the edge IF the car doens't weight more than 2000.

How far and what type of terrain are you covering? If you are going through New Mexico and only going 50 miles you may be ok. BUT on the other hand, if you are going through the Rockies or the Smokies, and in summer with high heat, I wouldn't chance it.

Just my $.02

you need a special trailer that is at most <800 lbs. I found one named featherlite but it is very expensive for an all aluminum trailer with no covers just ties to hold your car leaving you within <4500 lbs total weight.

trailex makes an alum trailer that is 700 pds. Figure care is around 3200, tools etc....

Basically i would be driving from Long Island Ny to lime rock, pocono, and watkins glen ny. I think the longest drive is around 3 or 4 hours.

It is a pretty flat drive for pulling a race car. I haven't pulled near that with my Pilot but most would advise that you are close to if not over the limit. another vehicle would be better suited. I was going to recommend a car dolly, but i assume you are pullign a car for racing and that wouldn't work for you.
