Are there any 2009 Pilot owners in Canada yet?

I picked up a Silver Touring model and absolutely love it...

We've already used it to tow some of our cars and are planning a road trip to Boston with it...

The upgraded stereo system is great! Seats 8 comfortably and fuel economy is avg 12L/100 kms for city and street use.

I ordered sterling grey EX-L 2 wks ago and the dealer is still tracking the vehicle. None available so far. I will call them tomorrow and hopefully have some idea how long it takes to get it. Got pretty nice deal on it -4000 (cash price) - 3000 (rebate).

Can you please clarify when you say "Got pretty nice deal on it -4000 (cash price) - 3000 (rebate)"? What price did you pay before taxes?

I have a touring pilot on order......early september
Colin Chappelle
New to this site. I have an '09 Sterling Grey Touring on order. Expect delivery late July Could have had the Sales Managers but it had 3,000 km on it along with running boards and the chrome grill.

Have read everything on the new Pilot. Started off in January with about 17 vehicles on our 'look at list' and narrowed it down to the '09 Pilot. I am a car guy who can't wait to get the new toy.

resending under new User:

Have an '09 Sterling Grey Touring on order. Expected to arrive late July early August.

Understand there is a storage bin under the front passenger seat. How much room is there? Took an EX-L for the test drive.

we picked up our black ex-l last friday, just off the truck, they haven't even had time to do the paperwork yet they were so excited to get it on the road. we also got a good price, lots of rebates, i think they are worried about consumer concern with fuel prices. We have put on close to 1000k and are averaging around 11litres/100km. which is fair i think. Anyhow, we love it!!

Are those rebates from Honda Canada? I was looking at the site and didn't see anything specific for the 2009 Pilot--only 2008 models. However, when I was at the dealer yesterday they said they could give me a really good price. I was just wondering if there was anything extra.

we had a rebate from the dealer and honda canada i believe. plus we had a 1500 rebate carried forward from the month prior when we were originally looking at a ridgeline. it was a good savings because they aren't too flexible otherwise
CdnColin
I can't find the provinces when using the rate a dealer function etc.
It shows Canada but nothing under it. Keeps asking for a State or Province but no Provinces to chose. What am I missing?

I used CarCost when negotiating my deal. Got about about 5% off list. Also got the lease rate down by increasing the securing deposit. That -$4000 cash -$3000 rebate sure sounds and looks like the deals offered on '08's ?

What did you pay before taxes? When I went to the dealer in Oshawa, Ont. they didn't have any brochures, nor pricing on the 09s. So I can only assume that the 2009 Pilot Touring would be around $50,000 before taxes/PDI, based on the price they gave me of ~$47000 for a 2008 EXL Nav.

And if the 2009 Pilots are actually in this price range, then I'm actually surprised that people are buying Pilots in Canada rather than from the US.

Wow, I just checked online and saw the $10,000 price difference. I thought Honda would have made their Canadian prices more inline with US prices like other auto makes.

I have owned my Pilot for the last 4 weeks. I was driving past Family Honda in Brampton and I noticed this good looking Black 4x4 being taken off the truck. I walked in and met one of the nicest sales people I have ever dealt with, His name was John. He told me all about the vehicle and spent about 1 hour with me just doing a comparison of the 08 to the 09. I was very very impressed. I told him to put a hold on the Vehicle because I wanted my wife to see it. We came back that evening and he spent another hour just telling her about the SUV. We took it for a test ride and loved it. We had been driving a 05 Xterra which drove like a truck. This Vehicle has comfort, looks and a nice price point. We sat down at the table and negotiated (Very Professional) and we purchased the Pilot. We picked it up the next day and I have been driving it since and enjoying every moment in the car. HONDA did it great...... My Pilot is a Touring Model in black.

My deal were 4000 instant rebate (cash purchase) from honda and another 3000 from dealer.

I didn't know Honda Canada was giving rebates on 2009s.

It would be really nice to see some Canadian OTD prices on here. I spoke to a saleswoman today, and questioned her on flexibility on prices. I got the usual bull that I've gotten from another Honda dealer in a nearby city.

"Honda MSRPs are consistent across the country, and there is little room for movement. We may be able to give a slight reduction for a cash deal"

No s**t the MSRP is consistent across the country. I thought about explaining a little economics to her (like if they had 50 Pilots sitting on their lot, there would be more than a little wiggle room) but didn't want to waste my time.

Anyway, rant off, and some OTD prices would be most excellent.

Yes there is cash purchase incentive $4000 from honda canada. If you are planning to purchase cash you should inquire for it.
I am from Toronto and bought from Sisley Honda.

Good Luck!!

I just ordered the Touring Sterling Grey model in Toronto. The dealer offered $4000 discount for cash buy, $1000 for loyalty rebate (I'm swapping in my 2004 Pilot Granite) and then I negotiated an additional $2900 dealer discount. I did however buy some options: crossbar, mats totally about $900 so some of the negotiated discount probably covers these. The only down side was that they weren't particularly optimistic about a quick delivery.

That was basically the message I got from one of the dealers around here. There are no incentives available on the 2009s and current promotions are only for the 2008 Pilots.

Would be interested in knowing if your early August order beats our June 30th order. I was advised that there is a production problem creating a month or more delay. This is also for a Sterling Grey Touring model.

The local dealer told me that the Pilot Touring would get a $5000 discount. Better news, but not great news. Bad news is that the trade-in price of the existing Pilot would not be great, and that trying get a Touring could involve a long wait.

I also ordered a Sterling Grey Touring, and I've been getting the runaround ever since.

I'll probably head down there again this week to see what's going on, but I figure they'll just pull another date out of their ass for me.

Our June 30th order was placed against their earlier dealer order. Not sure when the dealer order was booked for the Sterling Grey Touring. They will be giving us a free loaner as of Aug 25th if the vehicle hasn't arrived. Last update was Honda Canada saying the build is for late August.

I saw a white 2009 Pilot Touring with Alberta plates yesterday. For those that know the area, it was on the ferry between Balboa Island and the peninsula in Newport Beach, CA.

The dealer here actually got a EX-L Sterling grey in as their first shipment which is what I was looking for (3 days after Canadian release). Got a $2K discount from list and received $15K for trade of my 2003 EX-L (~85000KMs). Also have another $1K coming as part of the Pilot loyalty program.

The dealership here (Whitehorse, Yukon) has not received another 2009 since then so I guess it was a lucky first shipment for me anyways....

Got the serial number today. Our Pilot 'Touring' in Sterling Grey was built early last week and we should have it late this week. Bottom line is it will be 4-5 weeks late but our Dealer did say the delivery was a target date.

My '09 Touring arrived over the weekend so it took just over a month. Very nice feature set and drives well. When it stops raining, will post a picture.

Hi. I am just wondering. I bought a 2009 pilot, touring but won't get it until late October. The dealer here in Calgary won't give any other price break other than the $4k cash purchase discount. I've read that most of you guys got some $3K dealer rebate. And others got some loyalty $ for trading in their current honda vehicles. Anyone here from Calgary that got the $3K dealer rebate and/or loyalty rebate? I want to confirm this so I can go back to my sales guy and give him heck!

Please advise.

Thank you.

JB..
