Welcome!! Congrats!! And it looks like a million bucks!!
Less than one day old and you waxed it? I would have been out driving it all day!!!
Keep us informed as to how it performs for you over the long haul. My '04 has been impeccable since new in June 2004.
Plan to tow anything with it? Like a trailer, boat, camper? |

| Nice ride! Did the same thing, cleaned and waxed it the moment I got home from the dealership. Thinking was to start protecting the paint now, right? |

Exactly! Why wait for the UV light, and road film, to damage the paint. Car care specialties out of New Jersey sells all the good stuff. The owner recommended One Grand Blitz Carnuba Wax for the Pilot. Couldn't be happier with it. And only $25. |

Congrats on your purchase. What kind of deal did you get?
I thought I read that you should wait a couple months before you wax a new paint job. |

I can't speak to the safety of using the synthetic polymer based stuff (Turtle Wax Ice, etc). But you can use a Carnuba based wax on a new finish. And it will last a lot longer, as well. |

Thanks.
I wanted to protect it ASAP.
Got it for $31,000 even with accessories. Not bad...probably could have done a little better, but we were near the end of the lease on our EX-L Navi/RES Odyssey...drove it to work as I was going to stop by the dealership on the way home and a coworker had been looking for a good clean loaded one....she drove it and bought it the next day. So, I had to deal fairly quick to get a vehicle for the wife and kids. I feel comfortable with what I paid and that's all that matters.
Work has been busy, so I haven't even driven it since the purchase. Will be taking it out over the long weekend though. |

Very good question, id like to hear a comparison between the two..im sure the MDX feels faster, but is not as roomy as the new Pilot.. |

Frankly, I drove both before settling on the 2009 Pilot touring. We were trading in a 2003 MDX that I bought new (well, technically it was repo'd after 9k miles from the previous owner, but still ...)
There is absolutely no comparison between the driving experiences of the 2008 MDX and the 2009 Pilot. None, nada, zip.
the MDX feels like a sports car that happens to have a little extra cargo space and height. the Pilot drives like a small, tight suspension-based truck. I like the Pilot's ride, but it's no MDX.
Obviously I chose the Pilot (for space reasons) but man, that MDX was sweeeet. |
