Running Wires Down 'A' Pillar? - Click HERE for Original Thread
cdenny
I need to run the power cable for my GPS down the A pillar to the fuse box below the dash. Has anyone attempted to take off the trim from the A pillar to do this? I'm also not sure of the best way to route cable to the fuse box. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You may want to look at the instructions for the auto dimming rear view mirror as this is how then run the power. College Hills Honda has the instructions at:

if you do not have the rear view mirror with the compassyou may be able to pull the power from the cable that should be just above the headliner there. look up installing the auto dimming rear view and you should find some posts.

I just ran it between the glass and the trim. Didn't have to remove anything and it tucked out of sight nicely. Is the wire you're running too thick to fit in that gap?

Just pull on the moulding, it comes right out. It's just held on by 2 or 3 clips. To replace, line up the clips and lightly bump it with the palm of your hand and it will snap back into place. You can remove (pull away) the rubber strip from the top edge of the door to the bottom if you wish as well. This makes the panel easier to remove. To replace the ruber moulding, line the edge up to the channel and bump it back into place with your palm. Sounds hard but takes 2 minutes.

Thanks for all of the suggestions! The only power supply I see above the rearview mirror is the leads for the overhead lights. I'd like to tap in to those, but I'm not sure when they're powered.

I tried pushing the wire in to the pillar between it and the windshield, but it's kind of thick. I may try again.

If all else fails, I'll pull the trim off and run the wires down to the fuse box as illustrated in the manual.
