wondered what it was for a while now.

also, is it possible to do a headlight conversion? for the 03-05 models to have the 06-08 headlights?

No. You can put an 06-08 headlight on a 03-05 either

That is the air intake silencer. And no, headlights are not interchangeable between those years.

a headlight conversion from 03-05 to 06-08 would be very difficult. at the very least, you would have to modify the fenders, hood, and bumper, since the 06-08 housings have a different shape from the 03-05's. then you have to worry about the mounting brackets and wiring. my opinion is that it would just be too much trouble to go through all that and if you really want the projector-type output, try retrofitting a set of 03-05 housings with a set of DOT-approved projector lens. personally, i wouldn't change the headlamps at all. if you're looking for better light output, search the threads for bulb upgrades.
