Hello..
I have been lurking here for some time now. I certainly am not new to forums.. I know how to search before posting!!!
After looking around for quite some time, I purchased an '05 EX-L. I traded my 1999 Grand Prix for it. They gave me $4000 for my Grand Prix, and they lowered the price of the Pilot to $12,995  ,so I paid $8,995!!! It has 85k on the odo (hardly broken in, right??) and it has the tow package and sidesteps. Nighthawk black pearl, and of course black leather.
[ninja edit] almost forgot - I paid $125 to Gentile Honda in Racine, WI to completely inspect the vehicle. I dropped it off in the morning and gave them all day (the lot I purchased it from held my car and let me take the Pilot for as long as I needed). They checked everything out and gave it a clean bill of health. They couldn't believe the price I got it for!! [/ninja edit]
I already bought my consolepads and hp.org stickers! I will post pics later. Just wanted to say hello! I am excited to be a member here - from what I have read so far, everybody seems willing to help each other out, and I haven't seen alot of flaming, which is great.
PICS!!!

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal! I just got mine about a month ago and still love it.
Also noticed that you're from around me (I currently live in Milwaukee but own a house in Racine as a rental as well). |

Thanks Hiker! Yes, I own a house in the West Racine area. I am very close to Washington Ave (Hwy 20) and West Boulevard. I'm sure you know that area. Are there other Milwaukee area owners on the board? We should plan a get together / photo shoot. |

Well your house is in a better area than mine :). Mine is closer to downtown- in between Memorial and Washington Avenue in a not-so-friendly area. Which is why it's a rental and has been up for sale for going on 1 1/2 years :). That's a story in and of itself though...
I dont know any other Milwaukee area owners yet. There are certainly a LOT of Pilot's I see though, but this type of vehicle doesn't necessarily lend itself to a strong Internet community- unlike say Grand Prixs (Clubgp and several others) and Civic's, Corvettes, etc.... |

Congrats!!!!! Welcome!!!! and...
great deal!!!
The pics are really good. Question....
What size are them Toyos? They look different from OEM size. Like either a 245/70 or maybe a 75 series tire?
I'm jealous... my '04 EXL-RES didn't come with a sunroof and I just paid it off a year early this past weekend.... $4200 after making 48 payments of $358
I'm sitting at 52,500 miles with a paid off Pilot, sans sunroof and I still had to cough up $4k to pay it off.
This site is awesome and we look forward to many updates and inputs from you.
Jestmaty out... |

Oh yea....
I forgot that I made a down payment of $12,000 when I bought it. I guess I can't overlook that I did buy brand new... 8 miles on the odo when I bought it. |

Good eye jestmaty!! They are 255 70 R16. I think the OEM size is 235 70 16 (correct me if i'm wrong). they are really loud, but they grip very well. I tested their traction ability in gravel and grass, and they hook up very nicely. when these ones wear out, i'm definitely putting some quieter tires on, and the oem size also! |

I just saw a SBP '04 Pilot just like mine with Michelin LTX M/S with 255/70 size tires on stock rims.
I was pulling out of a strip shopping center when I saw the Pilot from a short distance away. Immediately, I noticed a beefier stance and when I got up next to it, I noticed the 255 on the sidewall.
Looked great, not too 'squeezed' onto the rim, and not too tall either. I've mentioned b4 that a 255/70 will look a WHOLE lot wider on an 8" rim than on a 6.5" rim. So... I would say that a 255 appears to be easily 'do-able' on our stock rims. I'll be just fine with my 245's when I finally get them mounted. Stupid OEM Goodyears still won't wear down enough for me to justify getting rid of 'em.
Still at 4/32" on the edges with 5-6/32" down the middle of all 4. I use one of those tire depth gauge thingies to check depth.
53,500 miles and 4years, 2 months old.... |
