So I'm working on pricing an 09 EX-L. Invoice with dest is $32,533. I have one dealer down to $550 over that.
Anyone gotten lower yet? I'm not in a tremendous hurry but I'm not sure if there are deals closer to invoice out there already. |

Depends on where you are located and how picky you are re: color.
Generally speaking, you should pay no more than invoice.
Have you read the "OTD Pricing" thread yet? |
|

Thanks. I have been watching the other pricing thread for weeks but it seems that most of the info is related to Touring models. I will start shooting for invoice and see what happens. Billet silver is our first choice but I could be convinced to do one of the other 3 shades of gray without too much trouble (not that I will mention that to the dealer...).
Any other EX-L buyers or shoppers out there? |
|

| What area do you live in? Most of the invoice deals seem to be in the NY and NJ region so far. |

| Hmmm. Out here in AZ I might be waiting for invoice for a while. I bought a car in Jersey last fall but it was a deal that was too good to pass up, probably not going to find that for a Pilot. |

Manchester Honda (CT) has a policy of "no haggle pricing". Firm price to every buyer; no exceptions. They are getting $33,984 for the 09 EXL 4wd. Today, 7/18 |

Are you sure that it wasn't 29,999.99? You know someone just told me something about not believing stuff about car deals on the Internet. If I only I can recall who that was....... |

Must have been a wise fellow!
It was 29,999.99 but I told him I was a member of this forum and I'm not just your average customer. So he took off the additional $.99

| I picked up a FWD Touring w/ NAV/RES. Gray Metallic/Gray interior. The invoice was $34,755 + dest. charge $670 for a total of $35,425. I paid $35,575 plus $885 in accessories. Without accessories, I paid $150 over invoice. They nailed me a little on the accessories, but I think I got a fantastic deal. These things aren't flying off the lot. Most every dealer, if you work with the internet sales manager, will sell you one for no more than $500 over invoice. |

The dealers are still pretty proud of them out here. At some of the prices listed it might almost be worth a road trip.
keep the prices coming.
Thanks! |

Nice work vdob. I'm getting a good idea of what to take in as my "drive away" price.
Thanks for the responses so far. |

Bali Blue Pearl with Blue interior at Boardwalk Honda, Atlantic City, NJ. Paid $32,000.00 Plus tax and title ($195 doc fee). Got 1.9% finance on entire purchase price.
Very pleasant experience. And I think I got a great deal. |

Just bought her today, $32,900 OTD.
EX-L, the only accessories were chrome tipped exhausts, which may be standard in some EX-L packages..
I don't know how some of you are getting in the 29k's for touring models, unless of course you are fudging numbers on an internet forum, which is quite possible.. |

I have gotten price quotes on a 4WD EX-L from two local dealers (Albany, NY) in the past week. Both came back at $32,533, which is equal to invoice + destination. Given that this was a "no-haggle" price, I'm guessing I can do better. Would like to shoot for $1,000 less.
Plus, can get 1.9% financing for 36 months or 3.9% for 60 months. |

I am working to purchase the same thing myself right now. I have been getting quotes for a AWD EX-L w/ RES and the lowest I have received so far is 32,979 which is 1000 above invoice including destination. I just replied offering 32000. We prefer the Silver with Blue interior but there are none in Oregon or Washington and only 3 on this side of the country. I may have to settle with the Grey interior. Don't forget about the $2000 dealer incentive, you should shoot for 2000 less than your quote. |

Any thoughts?
I also got them to throw in the all season floor mats.

arbriscoe, good luck on your Pilot search. Down here in Corvallis, I'm trying to purchase a 2009 Touring AWD (w/o RES) in Sterling Gray Metallic (black or gray) or in Silver (gray). Like you, none of those color combinations exist in Oregon/Washington/Idaho, so I may have to wait for a late September delivery and hope that Honda extends the $2K incentive.
I saw another poster mention that even though the blue leather looks nice, the interior color is also blue which (in their opinion) didn't look so nice. Have you had a chance to look at the blue interior? |

Wow, hadn't heard anything about the $2K incentive-to-dealer. So invoice price on an EX-L is really $30,533 ($32,533 factory invoice less $2,000), right?
Thanks in advance for the info. |

Hi all,
I got my EX-L 4WD w/o RES in the nimbus gray for $31,533 not including TTL. I wanted the sterling gray color but the fleet manger said there is not one to be found in all of California. |

I sat in a Touring w/ RES one over a month ago and we really liked the blue trim inside, it is definitely a personal preference. I just found out that it is still on the lot and I am negotiating with that dealer for invoice. |

Bid out purchase of 09 Touring RES 4wd via the Kbb.com link. I found this to be extremely easy and recieved 7 bids below sticker. Honda factory to dealer $2000 incentives were also thrown in put the deal at WELL below invoice. All sales contacts were eager to sell! $2000 Incentives supposedly end 8/31/08 and 1.9 or 3.9 AHFC financing ends 9/2/08.
Roomy, Comfortable and fun to drive. All in all I am very pleased with this ride. Had test drove the 09 Pilot EXL; 08 GM Enclave/Outlook/Acadia; Hybrid Yukon/Tahoe ; gas versions of the same and Yukon XL/ "Burb; Highlander; and Xterra.
I'm a GM guy for my 4WD's having had 7 different varriants from the old K-5s up to the 04 'Burbs . Also have had driven Accords/Odysseys from 91-2005. This G-II Pilot Touring 4WD is by far the best value for your money for a great 4WD. It may be limited in tow capacity but it was 10000 less than a comparable 08 GM Yukon 4SA SLT/ Tahoe LTZ, even with employee pricing! Mileage is comparable to my Odyssey and the resale will be better.
If I need another 4WD pickup truck to Pull or Haul I'll get another GM but for a great ride from here to ski country the Gen-II Pilot Touring 4wd has my vote.

Full story in the OTD thread but we ended up purchasing this vehicle last night for $426 above invoice. I could have got a little less but I forgot that the Touring already has the wiring harness and it threw a wrench in my negotiation strategy. They deserve the extra profit for easy going and friendly sales staff.
So far I am very impressed and pictures will be posted later today when the sun comes up. I know you guys want to see what the blue leather looks like so I will include that as well. There are so many features and options it will take me a year to learn them all and I consider myself a gadget guy. |

I first started with online quotes on the internet and got 3 and then brought the best one to a dealer. All dealers are different, so pick one that wants to deal.. I could care less if they sell the most cars in the country or some other claim to fame, I just want a good deal.
Purchased 2 week ago a 2009 EX-L AWD (all colors available) for 29,500 including destination and all other charges, with low financing of 3.9% five years. Then you negotiate a trade in, and they gave me $2,000 for my 15 year old rust bucket that went straight to their wholesale auction, so the final price before taxes was $27,500.
Folks, these cars are perfect but the fact of the matter is they are NOT selling because of the economy and the dealers are very very nervous. What that means is that YOU have the upper hand today, and if one dealer will not negotiate, YOU have the power to walk away and go to the next. Car shopping has never been easier, go out and try it and have fun! |
