YANPO (Yet Another New Pilot Owner)! - Click HERE for Original Thread
adinar
Hi all,

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself as yet another new Pilot owner. My wife & I have 3 kids (15 yo daughter, 9 yo son, and 3 yo son), and frankly, even though we love our '99 Honda CR-V EX (130k trouble-free miles), it is quite cramped w/3 kids and forget about taking any additional people (friends, family) anywhere. My wife fell in love with the Pilot after driving her sister's Pilot while visiting her in Utah, and I have several co-workers who are Pilot owners.

I found one last week in Dallas, put a deposit on it, and flew in from Little Rock, AR to buy it & drive it back. It's a Honda certified '05 Pilot EX (Nighthawk Black Pearl w/tan interior) with 32k miles. I paid just shy of $16k for it which I think was a pretty good deal? One owner (lease vehicle) with a clean carfax. It sure was fun buying it & taking a short roadtrip in it to bring it home!

Anyway, it drives like a dream, the family and I totally love it, and the sound system ROCKS!!! It sure was nice taking the whole family, my mom (visiting from out-of-state) and a fellow church member to church on Sunday, with room to spare!

Now to start accessorizing the Pilot. I'm a bit concerned about the lighter colored interior and the risk of staining the upholstery/floor mats with all my kids. So first on the list is the cargo tray (Honda OEM or Husky or Weathertech?), and Husky floor liners. I'm also planning on getting the rubber console liners and maybe a hitch for bikes/crossbars (OEM or 3rd party?) eventually.

This looks like an awesome owners forum, and I look forward to joining your little community and sharing in the love of this wonderful vehicle!
