Has anyone tried to Install aftermarket alarms with remote start for the 2009 Pilot? No place seems to have the diagram and wants to touch it. I want to put a DEI Viper Alarm with Remote start and no place seems to know if they can do it. I tried BestBuy and they said they dont have the diagram on their computer so they can't even touch the SUV. Any comments suggestions would be appreciated.

try to get one from your dealer and post it up:)

See i heard so many complaints about the dealer one, for ex: After remote start, you have to shut the car off and then get in and turn it on again and such. Just dont want to get that kind of a hassle. Does the dealer sell a better version?

The dealer installed an aftermarket on my 2009. It was an Ultra Start, model #1270.

They did say I would have to bring it back in 2 weeks to get a firmware upgrade to the fob. The current program starts the car just fine, but on the 2009s will not unlock the car. If you start it with the starter, then you need the Honda key fob to unlock it. Not a huge deal, but they said the firmware issue should be resolved shortly.

However, I did not want an aftermarket starter, I thought I was getting the Honda OEM system, so I made them exchange the car for one that had not been altered, so I will not be able to vouch for continued performance. However for the short 2 days I had it, it worked fine.

One of the best car security guys works for Best Buy in the Dallas area....his handle is "Murph" on the Carsound forum. You can contact him via the forum to get more info about doing your install.

I have seen lots of people complain about this "hassle", but really, the difference is kind of small.

You get in the same,
You put the key in the same,
You turn the key three clicks instead of 2 clicks.

And away you drive.

That is exactly how I see it too, I will probably use it only in the winter time that I park outside the garage.

Toyota did a factory remote start that required you shut the car off before starting it again to drive it.

It was such a total lame solution even the dealers would laugh when the had to explain it.

Most dealers around here in So Cal uses outside companies to install their alarms in Honda's/Acura's... If it's the same over there then ask them who they use and give them a call...

The company that Honda uses here only charges $75 to install or re-install an alarm
