Hi,
I just bought the 2009 Honda Pilot. My first Honda, and first vehicle this large.
We are a very active out-doorsy family with 3 young boys, so we get dirty dirty dirty, and water-proof/ resistant seat covers are a must for us.
It looks like Honda only offers the one for the second row, I'd like to cover all three rows, and be able to make use of the sliding seats, headrests, and armrests, (and of course not block the airbags!) and not pay $500+.
Any ideas on where to look for affordable water resistant seat covers??
Also, does anyone know if the 2008 seats were different from the 2009?? Would I be able to use the stuff that's on the market now for the new truck? I'm having a hard time finding accessories for this model year, I know many things changed over the previous model years, but would assume the seats stayed very similar...appreciate any feedback you can provide.
Thanks! |

The amount of seat covers available on the market continues to dwindle, because of side impact airbags.....
If the manufacturer of said covers doesn't design the covers with easy tear-away stitching to allow for side SRS deployment, they make themselves vulnerable to a whole slew of lawsuits in which injury or death could occur that would be/have been prevented by the side impact airbag deployment. |

Thanks for the information, that makes sense. Do you know whether custom tailored covers for the 2008 Pilot would work on the 2009? I know the headrest on the third row were a little different, but other than that they didn't seem to 'look' much different in appearance. |
