Hello All,
Does anyone else have this problem? In my 2009 Touring, I loaded up a 16GB flash drive with about 4,000 songs. All of the songs are in the root, they are not separated into folders. So I have just one folder with about 4,000 songs. The USB will only allow me to scroll down to about 332 sonogs, and the rest I cannot see. I took the flash drive back to my computer, formatted it and this time only put 700 songs on it. This time I was only able to see 314 songs. Additionally, when I plug the drive back into my computer, I see something odd, it seems that some of the files names are repeated about 100 times or so, and the files then appear to be junk, unplayable on the computer.
So I'm wondering if I just have a bad flash drive (it was a cheapie I bought on ebay) or if others have seen a similar issue on their Touring with USB connectivity. I would love to hear some comments from people that have all of their songs in the root folder and are able to scroll down into th thousands!

| What's the specs for the support file system(s) for the thumb drive? Is it FAT16 and FAT32? If you can use the latter an are not doing so, then try that. |

Hi,
THanks for your reply. The drive I was using was formatted in FAT32. I bought a more reliable one and am trying it tonight. WIll let you know if it works. |

| I'm happy to report that my new (more expensive) flash drive works beautifully. My advice? Don't go cheap...sure you can buy a 16GB flash drive for $30-$40, but spend $100 and get a good one. Also, I have learned that when you load 4,000 files into the root folder, it takes a long time to figure out what you've got there. Take the time to break them into folders, you will be glad you did. My Pilot now reads all 4,442 files! |

| my daughter is now a happy person thanks to your posting. we just got the 2009 touring and she told me that it should read everything. I had not tried yet but she pointed this post to me and said.... see it can be done so now lets do this dad. lol |
